Trump will be armed with a range of powerful options, including federal lawsuits and the power to withhold hundreds of millions of dollars in grants that states and cities rely on.

"The Trump administration can largely get the results it is seeking and a real meaningful end to most of these sanctuary policies through a combination of carrots and sticks," said Jessica Vaughan, director of policy studies at the Center for Immigration Studies, who has advised the Trump transition team on its immigration enforcement options. "The point is not to go around whacking all these little cities and counties, it's to get them to do the right thing. And for the die-hards, to confront them."

Local communities are digging in for the fight. Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel created a task force to help undocumented immigrants and pledged $1 million for a legal defense fund. "Chicago always will be a sanctuary city," he said.

I like how the term "whacking" is used in the emboldened quote above. That word will bring to mind the mob for many Americans and how they use the word "whack" to mean kill someone. That really describes how so many liberals seem to see this issue. Enforcing existing immigration laws is akin to "whacking [in the mob sense?] all these little cities and counties"? Is enforcing the law equivalent with committing a heinous crime?

You have to love the "little cities and counties" part of it too. It's as if they're just victims of the big, bad federal government. The truth is that they're brazenly trying to help people commit serious crimes. The "little cities and counties" are not victims. They're accomplices to crimes that have all sorts of terrible unintended consequences.

Thats right, punish the cities. Really means punish the people. What, sanctions come home? How about the politicians refuse to take PAC money form the corporations that hire undocumented workers to save money.

Better yet, do what they used to, run FBI sting operations catching them accepting briefcases full of cash to look the other way.

The politicians that is. Look up ABSCAM, its buried pretty deep but is still there. Punishing cities of people for the crimes of state...

business as usual. They probably need the money for "Defense'.

We elect the governments we deserve on all levels.

In these cities and states that are going to defy, the people elected them. And no one prevents people from moving. Look at Detroit; it's a ghost town compred to what it was. People moved as it went downhill.

if he can prove they are disregarding federal law and or running interference for illegal aliens, especially criminal ones, i hope he hits them with federal charges including obstruction of justice and puts them in prison.

But it's the people electing the corrupt officials who are breaking the law.

Actions have consequences and being stupid should hurt. They gone learn today.

Do you think Trump is going to shut down all the Corporations that profit on illegal workers. I don't!

It's just pandering and nothing will ever get done.

If these cities want to elect representatives to bring undocumented workers there and protect them from federal involvement to just fill up their school with extremely high student to teacher ratios, fill up the ERs with 10 hour wait times, use limited social resources on them, bankrupt their city in the end then so be it. They can live in what they create.

Pretty much what happens in Chicago. The problem is that the wealthy libs who vote don't have to live with the consequences. They send their kids to the private schools. Don't have to wait in the ER. Don't have to live around the crime. The poor libs are too stupid to understand why their communities are so screwed up.

BINGO! Witholding federal money just accelerates that inevitable process.

Agreed!

The problem is, once they ruin the place they live because of their politics, if they are wealthy enough, they just move somewhere else and continue their insanity until it gets just as bad where they moved to they are forced to move into another peaceful area and destroy it.

Locusts and parasites come to mind while thinking about it.........

Exactly!

How much Diversity and Multiculturalism do they except and have in their gated communities in which they live? Do they send their children to public schools or private?

Virtue signaling at it's finest when you are forcing others to deal with the consequences of your political beliefs while living somewhere safe and not being forced to accept what you expect others to deal with!

Hillary Clinton almost got elected. And in her case, the public KNEW about the corruption. There is no excuse there. It seems that the public, at least wide swathes of it, don't seem to care anymore.

And we have Trump who may not be all that much cleaner. I don't know, but he's the choice we were given.

It was poison you KNOW or the one that may be poison.

This one also reveals how the gubment and corporations work together to cover up exploiting undocumented workers. Near the end, showing Immigration raids on 'illegal aliens'...

Most of the people here are fully awake, understand the truth.

Lots of people on main street are blissfully unaware. They mostly review news bullets where they encounter them in their daily life. News during dinner, half time during the game, the newspaper at work, etc.

They have less time on their hands to dig around and or don't want to rock the boat, endanger their lives and the lives of their loved ones.

How stupid that makes us, clamoring for justice and all...?
