Chicago Police: 4 in custody after man tied up, tortured on Facebook Live

Investigators are looking into a Facebook Live video showing a group of people holding a young man hostage.

A young African American woman streamed the video live on Facebook showing at least four people holding a young white man hostage. The victim is repeatedly kicked and hit, his scalp is cut, all while he is tied up with his mouth taped shut. The suspects on the video can be heard yelling, "F*** Donald Trump! F*** white people!"

...the young man is now at a hospital being treated for his injuries.

No charges have yet been filed.

What is wrong with the culture in Chicago?

People have gone mad.

I just saw this myself.
One of the FB comments that I read actually stated, and I quote, "This is bad. Not as bad as a game show host/failed casino owner grabbing a woman's genitals without her consent, but very bad."

OMG I am speechless right now. What the hell have we come to when they think this is normal and OK? At one point she actually talks about being upset that no one is watching!!!

I'm beyond disgusted with what little bit I watched of the video. I stopped watching after the guys took a knife and cut his scalp.

I do not understand this at all. I literally cannot wrap my head around how people can behave this way.

I can't believe someone would be this dumb and much less with a group of people. I can't help but think these people may have been paid to do this in order to incite racism. I just can't believe someone would be this dumb knowing they would be caught by the police.

well, i hate to be the one....but in this day and age we all ought to be skeptical of anything we see online. Peoples belief in what they see/read/hear is at an all time low. Also i think law enforcement and the media are trying not to jump to conclusions about what all this means before they know all the facts.....unlike when they report on crimes by whites or others that are ok to hate/demonize/slander etc.

It's just so sickening. These are savages and the lowest form of life there is. It should be charged as a hate crime. Something needs to be done about Chicago. Crimes happen everywhere, but Chicago needs help.

How did he escape? The article doesn't say. I hope their source is correct that he is in the hospital. They were talking about killing him.

I don't care for facebook, but in this case, the stupidity of these thugs to post Live may have saved his life.
