65,000 emails ...well thats it, not going to
be completed before the election.

So all Clinton can do now is whine and cry and spin.

I work in the legal field and 65K actually can be reviewed within 10 days. Not to say they will or should, but up against a deadline with document review software and an experienced, reliable review team, it can be done.

Edit: 650K???? No, not happening!!! Still they can cull the e-mails and drastically narrow down the total. Then using some key word search and some data analysis they'd probably find some relevant stuff pretty quickly.

I saw this on FOX news earlier today and made a comment about it in the MONSTER thread about the Clinton Email Investigation Reopened but it is good to see it get it's own thread. Great job Xuenchen!

Weiner is trying to save his own skin now so I'm sure he'll point them to the pertinent emails as part of the deal that he's probably making right now.

But, if true that he's indeed cooperating with the FBI, shouldn't we consider the possibility that he already showed the FBI emails that may lead them in the right direction?

It would make a lot of sense

We can assume that Weiner is being investigated for texting underage girls. Who knows, maybe he's into kiddie porn too? Obviously there's some kind of interstate violations hence the FBI? Or something else? But he is facing some serious prison time. He has to make a deal because he is screwed. He is gonna sing like a canary.

Being married to Clinton's right hand woman he must have a treasure trove of dirt on the both of them. If he's got any sense at all he'll start talking before someone shuts him up.

I just had a crazy thought, what if Huma is sincere in not knowing this was on Weiner's laptop. In my home, via my home wifi, I can retrieve files from different laptops in the network, except those with security protocols.

Is it possible, they had a similar set up? Weiner sees a file called life insurance and possibly curious opened it. Seeing what was there, decides to save said file over to his pc for his own insurance too?

Story from The Washington Post via MSN:
FBI agents knew of Clinton-related emails weeks before director was briefed

The FBI agents investigating Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server knew early this month that messages recovered in a separate probe might be germane to their case, but they waited weeks before briefing the FBI director, according to people familiar with the case....

This seems to corroborate Weiner giving permission for review, waiving the need for a warrant.

That agents may have known about email contents prior to Comey's statement, is curious, though.

If he has offered up 650,000 emails (assuming that isn't some kind of typo), this almost certainly means...

a) He has been collecting these emails for a very long time, for a rainy day
b) The noose must have been seriously tightening on him, on his other legal woes
c) He has offered the FBI the keys to the Clinton vault (650,000 emails from Huma's records!!), in exchange for a light sentence for texting with a minor

These emails, speculation of courser, could contain insight into a whole lot more than just if Hillary had "intent" when she set up her illegal private server.

If this is Wiener's play, I am sure that he has multiple copies of these emails in safe places...in case they suddenly go missing...or in case he wakes up dead some morning.

This is going to make one heck of a movie!

My theory:

The FBI knew or suspected that more emails would be found on a personal device belonging to Huma.

If Huma was not going to admit the laptop existed, they would need good cause to search. And with a hostile DOJ, even if they managed a search warrant, the evidence might have been destroyed from a DOJ leak before they could get there, much like the bleachbit/Clinton server purge.

They knew of Weimer's addiction. So they did a sting. I see strong evidence that his chat with the minor was a sting. The FBI could not bust him directly for that, because it would reveal their methods, so they leak it to the tabloid, giving them a reason to investigate and subpoena all devices in the home.

This gives them a reason to make a deal with Weimer - voluntarily give access to all information on the devices in exchange for a deal. Then again, they don't need a DOJ warrant to at least see if they have anything.

The FBI was under tremendous pressure internally and from the public to do the right thing. If it was later found out that they knew this device existed and did nothing, it would have further hurt their credibility. So, they did what they could to get to it.

Now this device, since it was concealed from law enforcement during the investigation, has information that Clinton had deleted from her server. The reasons for the existence are a different set of theories.

So at this point I think we could logically say the FBI knows exactly what they have and that it is significant, but they won't give details until they have it formally processed.

I can't help but think that is a typo. 65,000 - 55,000 = 10,000. Throughout this investigation, many numbers on both sides have been used and reported on.

I wonder, we us the people will ever get to know what Weiner really have in his computer that incriminate his ex wife, Hillary and who knows how many?

I doubt it, I think, all the secrets will be hidden we will never know.

Even so, none of this would be happening to anybody had Hillary Clinton followed the protocols and not set up a private server in her home connected to the Clinton Foundation and communicated State Department business on it.

Hillary is at fault for all of it. She should not have security clearances of any kind ever, much less serve as POTUS!

Well the article does not make it clear at all, how many of the 650k email are Clinton/Huma emails and how many are Weiner emails - that is key info.

A directory named insurance with the email copies in it. Most likely deliberate copies versus a mailbox.

Did the Platte River guys supply the email to her from the archive?

They took the 5th.

Dozens of way to speculate this one.
