500 most useless facts in a pointless thread...

I'm..dare I say it..bored..and so, I put words "the most useless fact ever" into google search engine and found this:

Yes..500 mostly useless facts. We know them, but there is no point to knowing them.Some of my favorites are:

#7 - Your stomach has to produce a new layer of mucus every 2 weeks otherwise it will digest itself.
#51 - Count the number of cricket chirps in a 15-second period, add 37 to the total, and your result will be very close to the actual outdoor Fahrenheit temperature.
#55 - If one places a tiny amount of liquor on a scorpion, it will instantly go mad and sting itself to death.
#61 - When you sneeze, air and particles travel through the nostrils at speeds over 100 mph. During this time, all bodily functions stop, including your heart, contributing to the impossibility of keeping one's eyes open during a sneeze.
#73 - In a lifetime the average human produces enough quarts of spit to fill 2 swimming pools
#76 - The human heart creates enough pressure to squirt blood 30ft.

Add to the list, debunk some that are on there.. read through them or don't. I just found some of them quite interesting..who decided we had a need to know some of this stuff (#10 for instance..who sat and watched that?)

Anyhow... just thought I'd share..hope everyone finds at least one useless fact they didn't know before

But #79 is wrong, the we use only 10% of our brain myth. Almost all of our brain is active almost all the time.

I right now am making a conscious decision to reply to your post.

I am breathing automatically, and my fingers are typing the response, and signals are being sent to digest the omelette I had this morning.

I think it's more to say that we use 100% of our brains, but not 100% of the brain is used consciously.

Who knows maybe I just made that quote to fit what made more sense to me. That was my interpretation of when someone says "We only use 10%" like we're 90% brain dead or something.

Interesting observation. I never thought of the 100% that way.
I always thought there was a bit of empty space behind my eyes waiting to be filled.
Maybe I am like Kelly Bundy. One information comes in, another piece of information has to go out to make room.
