Breaking 3 dead in Spalding, UK - Shooting

Just down the road from where I work. Not much detail yet but 3 dead including the gunman.

No indication of terrorism.

Breaking News image Three people have died in a shooting near a swimming pool in Lincolnshire, police have said.

Officers were called to Pinchbeck Road in Spalding at about 09:00 BST near the Castle Swimming Pool. Those killed include the suspected gunman, Lincolnshire Police said, with no shots fired by the force.

Police said they were not looking for anyone else in connection to the incident and urged members of the public to stay away from the area.

Feel free to add as I'm at work so difficult to update.

Doesn't appear to be terrorism.

More a personal issue. Guy killed 2 then himself.

I think this may be a family tragedy.

Shocking, but sadly just another example of the violence in the UK. We don't hear about it much but the country has become increasingly violent over the last decade.

Normally when you hear about these sort of things it's when a marriage has gone south and its a nasty divorce and the bloke decides its just not worth it anymore so pops (ex)wife+kid and then himself, its a tragic thing but isn't that uncommon. Normally a lot of it is suicide by gassing themselves by using the car fumes and never makes much beyond the local papers.

Could well be a family but no more details as yet. There is a kids park right next door to the pool and at the moment that looks roughly where it happened it wasn't actually in the pool itself. I'll try and confirm.

Almost certainly family related - someone I work with has parents that run a business next door, and they've pretty much heard the same through people that are there.

To the OP - This sounds like a domestic: A a crime of passion. Before people get into the old "I though UK were not allowed guns", bear in mind that there are lots of legal guns in circulation, they are just not "open carry" or military.

Very true, it is a play on numbers also. A crime that is unreported does not go down as a crime statistic, I have lost count how many crimes are now downgraded within the Police to limit a response, you basically need to say I am about to be killed before they are willing to show up or at least that is the case in London. Many people local to me wont even bother reporting for things such as vandalism/Criminal damage or even theft from a vehicle, the police simply do not turn up.

Spalding. Very rural territory, edge of the Lincolnshire Fens.
If not English, more likely to be eastern European migrants brought in as fruit-pickers.
Muslims tend to live in the more urban settings.

It's actually quite easy to get guns here if you know the right/wrong people.

But I've been told over and over if guns are banned then they just magically disappear.. they somehow break the space time continuum and disappear into nothingness once a gun free zone is established.

Those killed are believed to be two women and a man. Police said they were not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

Maybe it was his wife and her mother.
