I am addicted to ATS.

I didn't want to admit this to myself, but I have tried to quit several times in the last few months, including a hiatus for the holidays and I can't help, but come back to see what is going on here.

There are people I can't wait to hear from. There are people I don't agree with and I still want to see what they are saying whenever they start a thread. There is abuse both taken and given.

This site is like a sick relationship that I can't break off.

The first step is to admit you have a problem...

Addicted to information and the debate of what is or isnt relevant or true?

Well theres plenty of worse things to be addicted to!

I like it because even if im not posting because i might not have an opinion to express im filling my head with stuff thats 100x more interesting than TV or reading newpapers, magazines etc.

If you only have one or two guilty pleasures, ATS is one of the better ones

If you really dont like being addicted, then by all means quit or try to - we'll be talking about you, or maybe we wont? I guess you'll have to take a look to find out

You need a hobby, or some internet downtime for a month.

I thought i was addicted, until i had internet downtime for close to a month.

The first couple of days it was horrible, then i started to relax and do other stuff, after a week i didn't even think about it anymore.

When i finally got my internet back, the first thing to do was going back to ATS to see what i missed in that month, i was surprised to see that it was pretty much nothing.

I actually get most of my news from ATS.

It would be hard to not come here for the information.

As long as you are not neglecting important duties in real life as a result of spending time on ATS, then you should be fine. People spend as much time watching TV as you do browsing ATS and they are still able to maintain a healthy state of mind.

It's difficult not to be attracted to a site which has many members that are so interesting and intelligent.

Nothing wrong with a Strat, so don't knock it or else!

Well, considering I am retired I have time to kill.

I am going to be coaching girls softball again this summer and I will probably keep some of my real estate business going as I still have a passion for the rehab game.

With my daughter starting college in the Fall I need to find some stuff to keep me busy and my mind occupied. I have some idle hands right now.

I'm with you my old metal friend...
I get on ATS to see what happened in the world while I was sleeping or working. Our members are a far better news source than anywhere.
It's not an addiction...it's a lifestyle.

I'm Stosh and I'm an addict.

I have tried many times too.

You are not alone. It is my go to for news as well.

You can't get better vetted news anywhere.

I was hoping you were going to say you were addicted to brotherman comics. Dammit no such luck!

See those little green things above all the replies? I think they might have something to do with it. It's like "likes" on Facebook, they give you a sense of gratification and they keep you coming back for that gratification.

At least that's one of the reasons I come here every day, other than the topics and debates. I know I get a good feeling when I see someone has starred one of my posts or flagged one of my threads.

Maybe I'm just a weirdo though.
