While reading the transcript of a recent CNN "State of the Union" episode, an offhanded comment received absolutely no play from the participating parties. The lack of a response is many times a very strong response and I am going to make a prediction:

Donald Trump will take Newt Gingrich as a running mate. The result of this, in my opinion, will be massive and unbeatable.

Below is the transcript of the show mentioned earlier and here is a picture of what I think is the next team running for President:

TAPPER: But assuming he gets the nomination who would you recommend he pick as his vice president, Mary Katharine?

HAM: OK. There's a great piece of "The Federalist" by my colleague Mollie Hemingway on this who said -- I want to give her credit for this idea. Double down on the reality star thing. Mike Rowe...

TAPPER: CNN star.

HAM: He is -- he has been speaking for this working class voter longer than Donald Trump has. He is very, very likeable, perhaps -- particularly with women, where Donald Trump has a problem. Just go for it.

TAPPER: Ok. If there were a second choice, who would you?

HAM: Second choice, I think, Newt Gingrich has shown some affinity for Donald Trump.

TAPPER: Yes.

HAM: He fills in a lot of the gaps that Donald Trump doesn't have when it comes to policy. He's been a conservative for many years and in the movement for many years, missteps here lean it. Has some reputation --

TAPPER: OK. In our premature veepstakes who would you pick for Donald Trump?

JEALOUS Look, I would go with Mike Steele, the former lieutenant governor of Maryland. And I would go with him quite frankly because I think he would kind of dull the edge of Donald Trump's hatred. He's somebody who is, you know, a big tent Republican, and who folks, people of color, blacks, Latinos, you pair him with Donald Trump might think Donald Trump is capable of shifting towards humanity.

TAPPER: What about you, Andre? Who would you pick?

BAUER: Well, of course I'd pick me.

(LAUGHTER)

TAPPER: OK. We didn't prepare that graphics. So why don't you tell us who you actually picked.

BAUER: I think you'll see something different. I think what he will do is he won't go with the norm that you pick a battleground state and pick somebody from that state or rival candidate.

I think he's going to say, who can help me get the job done?

TAPPER: Yes.

BAUER: And I think he needs some balance and I like Mary Fallin for that reason. She has been in the private sector -- TAPPER: The governor of Oklahoma.

BAUER: She's been in the real estate business. But she has been in Congress. She has been a three-term lieutenant governor. She has been a highly successful governor, cutting the pension deficit in half, dealt with national disasters, an articulate, well spoke attractive woman that can balance Trump I think is the perfect V.P. candidate.

TAPPER: And Neera who would you pick for Donald Trump?

TANDEN: I mean, I think it's premature on both sides.

TAPPER: Yes. Of course it's very premature. (INAUDIBLE).

TANDEN: You know, actually I think the single issue here is that the Republican Party seems to be broken, and so I think the -- I think that he has to take someone who is running and Ted Cruz is a person who represents conservatives. He's gotten the second most votes. If you're thinking of putting your party back together again.

JEALOUS: So, we double down on reality stars to double down (INAUDIBLE).

TAPPER: All right, there you go. We're going to take a quick --

(CROSSTALK)

TAPPER: Don't go anywhere. Up next Hillary Clinton's advisers are also putting together potential names for a running mate. Will she make a bold choice or a safe one? The Democratic veepstakes heat up.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

I could see it helping from a political experience side. Even using him as a conduit to the power brokers in the Republican Party. I don't see any gain, over-all in that package.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems neutral. No big hit or gain.

Newt being his VP will make him unbeatable? How so?

Newt will threatened to shut down the govt if people don't elect Trump.

Gingrich has his own baggage, which would come up again. While it might be a smart move to appease the GOP conservative base, I do not think it is a smart move for a national election. The swing voters hold the key here, and Gingrich is just another old white male at a time when the electorate is tired of that. I'm not sure the Oklahoma governor is the best choice (There seems to be a lot of hate there), but if Trump and Fiorina could patch things up, that might be an interesting match.

I'd like to see him choose Jim Webb. And before my fellow Conservatives beat me up, read up on some recent stories of Jim Webb...

I think Webb will pull in more support from the true blue democrats, while at the same time keeping the support already at hand. Plus Webb is very smart when it comes to the military.

I agree!

Webb was really the only Democrat running! Hillary, globalist, Bernie socialist. Webb was the ONLY Democrat that seemed to not want to "Transform" his country.

I heard Gingrich suggested as Trump's V.P. by Rush Limbaugh about 3-4 weeks ago.

LoL If Trump were to pick Newt, it would prove beyond any doubt that Trump is the most establishment person running in this election.......

Hands down......

Might as well get Carl Rove to start running his campaign for him

I agree with the above poster.

Obviously, a Hispanic female would be the most voter-friendly choice.

Though Carly would likely sway many. (who don't realize how incompetent she is)

Wasn't it Newt who said Trump wasn't apart of the club, namely the secret society, on TV not to long ago?

Either way, you're right, if Trump picks Newt then he has officially joined the establishment...even though he's an elitist to begin. Oh what ignorance it is to be a Trump supporter and claim he's anti establishment.

Agreed! Webb was the only one from that side I could stomach. I could actually get out and vote for that.

a common mistake is to pick a veep who "balances" a candidate

the veep is one heartbeat away from potus, so you need to pick someone who can do that job

the idea of newt being president has already been summarily rejected by americans

Mia Love.

She is not a fan of Trump - which is all the more reason. If he can persuade her that some of her complaints are unfounded then he can show he can bring the party together.

And don't know how unbeatable it is and if I really like it but I think Newt Gingrich matches up well with Trump, that would be a strong ticket.

To much war baggage in my view.

Newt isn't that stupid.

For Trump to do well in the general election, he needs to get the evangelicals back on his side, whom would otherwise vote for Cruz.

I suggest Michelle Bachman could help him with that.

It also ensures the entire ticket is bat# crazy.

He couldn't possibly be that stupid. LOL Of course, McCain took Palin, and she's just as nuts.
