Does anyone else make up songs for the pets...?

...or just me?

I have "songs" that I make up for my pets. It's not really a concious thing I intend to do, it just sort of happens. For my dog, who is a Chihuahua named Ginger, it goes like this:

Ginger-beast,
from the Middle East,
but not really though...
You're from Mexico!

And for my cat:

Meow-meow,
kitty meow-meows
meow-meow kitty,
kitty meow

You'd have to hear the melody to get it I guess on that last one. It looks kind of stupid written out. LOL.

The cat will come running when I sing that little song, usually because I'm feeding her. The dog? Well...she kind of gives me that, "What NOW human? That stupid thing again? Yes, I realize my ancestors are from Mexico..."

So...am I the only one who does this? Anyone else care to admit to doing it as well?

I suppose I have sung a little ditty here and there. I don't think my cat really cares as long as he's being fed and cuddled.

There was a bit in Mystery Science Theatre 3000 where the robots came up with their theme songs. Tom Servo had a magnificent, grandiose one set to classical. And Crow had dippy, dorky one he made up on the spot consisting of lots of da-da-da-da ... um ... Crow ...

And the two matched our partners-in-crime at the time: AC and Gizmo.

Replace Tom with AC.

Oh, and I'm forgetting out third boy ... he got Mike's theme song because his name when we adopted him used to be Mike, but we changed it to Fritz. It was simply ... Mike, muh, muh, muh, Mike, Mike, Mike, muh, muh, muh ... We simply changed it to Fritz.

They really were a good trio of kitty boys and had the right personalities to go with those songs.

I've caught my kids (a tween and a teen) singing a rather inappropriate song they made up while cleaning out the Guinea pig's cage. Gotta admire that creative streak.

Meow-meow,
kitty meow-meows
meow-meow kitty,
kitty meow

Is it like brown chicken brown cow? Bow chicka wow wow? Meow meow kitty MEOW MEOW, meow meow kitty meow meow

You should upload some audio!

I do the same thing, and all pets and animals I know get weird nicknames that are hard to explain. I'm pretty sure a part of the reason my lady friend likes me so much (or alternatively likes me so much because she puts up with it) is my penchant for singing old country love songs with certain dogs names replaced and lyrics tweaked.

Mostly about my Turkey Cat.

I have this thing stuck in my head now. It's sung to the Spiderman theme.

Turkey cat
Turkey cat
How I love the turkey cat
Meow! It is a turkey cat!

Sorry. I'll go now.

I don't make one up.
However. God I can't believe I'm going to admit this.....

My weimaraners have stubby tails. The faster they wag. The happier I am. Sooooo.

You may have heard the song on a jimmy dean breakfast comercial.

🎵Goooooood morning. GOOD Morning! 🎶

Edit: having read the rest of the post. Can't wait for Super Troopers too Meow!😃😺

Well, in my long walks with my dogs it would be unnatural not to sing to them, or at least make up limericks...

*sigh* I suppose now I'll have to upload my cat song. It won't be pretty as I'm not a singer. Stay tuned...

So in not alone! I don't have any one specific song, I usually make them up on the spot.

Yes, I think we all do it. Mine are usually spur of the moment rhymes or limericks about them using their names or nicknames.

Because as pet owners we're all similarly retarded like that. I say that in a good way though.

LOL! This is one of those very intimate secrets I don't think I've ever told anyone. Hell, I've been in denial myself, about my pet songs. Yeah, I have them.

To my dog Cody, he usually hears-

Coco-Moco, Coco-Moco,
He wants some food
Let's get it, dude.

Coco-Moco, Coco-Moco,
Such a good boy,
Plein de joy

(I get sorta franglish-y in these)

My horse Kaia gets a country western tune,
usually sung as I am brushing her quietly, or belted out loudly when on the trail in very isolated places-

Kai-kai, oh my kai-kai,
She's the best horse around

Kai-kai, oh my kai-kai,
She won't let me down.

Kai-kai, oh my kai-kai,
She gives me so much

Kai-kai, oh my kai-kai,
I looove you a buuunch....

The cat gets a wierd "Kiki Maow, Kiki Maow, Mow, mow, Kiki..." chanting.
