Well Chicago does have a gun problem.
But look at the stats for this year to date.

604 shot this year.
121 deaths.
1 police involved shooting.
2 hours and 54 minutes between shootings.

38 shot in the butt. 1 death from butt shot.
15 shot in the junk.
13 Selfie shots.
78% Were black assailants.
72% Were black victims.
5.5% Were White assailants.
4.3% Were White victims.

This is the race issue we are not allowed to talk about.

SO IS THE INFERENCE THEN, THAT BLACK PEOPLE SHOULD NOT HAVE GUNS?

One thing you need to remember whether these people are shot in the back or front they will be on disability the rest of their lives. That's how the system works. Free room and board for the rest of their lives. This little town getting hit by a car is big. generally $25 k from the insurance company just because then disability for life. It's big business.

It's telling that the black community refuses to admit its serious internal problems with violence of all kinds.

right....because getting injured for life by being shot is so financially rewarding for blacks that it's the new welfare model....uh huh.....right...got it.

This is such disturbing information. I can't even imagine the people where I currently live behaving in this manner. Chicago is everything we do not want for the rest of the country (though some keep trying to copy their oh-so effective policies and models) ...so very sad that this takes place in modern 'civilization.' People and their behaviors astonish me.

My take was that we need common sense laws regarding selfies and guns, butt-shooting and junk-shooting.
That would just solve so many problems.

This is exactly correct. No one wants to address the REAL issue and we can't fix a problem that isn't even acknowledged. Everyone in my area owns a gun, there hasn't been a shooting in like 7 years and that was a home invasion by someone outside of the area. This issue is not guns, it is these people committing the crimes. There is something very wrong in how they are being taught to behave. Something needs to be done about the culture of these communities.

Right.. because that will deter a bad person from committing evil crimes. Spending life in prison isn't expensive enough? And the fact someone has such a cruel heart to begin with isn't the bigger problem that should be addressed? Its the bullets.. hmm. For which everyone will pay more. Even those who have nothing to do with this issue. Which is most gun owners.

Its probably got more to do with the culture of open street corner drug dealing, that causes most of these disputes, which would naturally cause a lot of territory disputes and robberies... rather than it having anything to do with some natural disposition of a particular race of people, which some people seem to be insinuating.

I'm sure "white people" have quite a significant influence in these inner city disputes, by making up a large portion of the consumers of these black markets.

We are just on a roll today!

This is why the situation will never be resolved, because its always someone elses fault apparently. No personal responsibility taken (in general), and none expected. (Most on) both sides agree that blacks are victims, and so they shall always be, via mutual consent.

Its sad, really.
