I had heard about this here on ATS but had not seen this short video clip on the subject. I did not find this on a search but if it is posted elsewhere let me know MODs. I have not read all of the bill but sneaking crap like this through during a blizzard in DC is as bad a deal as the Federal Reserve Act during Christmas recess in 1913 if you ask me.

You should find the bill so we can digest it.

Kinda feels like we've already been installing international martial law since 2001.

Does the US govt. really believe they have the right to go anywhere in the world, throwing their military weight around !!
Talk about team america world police !

I find this particulary offensive.
I am sure many others across the globe would feel the same ...

Very poor form.

International martial law is an oxymoron. Unless the plan is to take over each of those governments first.

It's not a bill. It's a resolution. And the irony is that it is Mitch McConnell who has proposed it.

What he's mentioning

The resolution is a new authorization for use of military force (AUMF) for declaring war on ISIS. It would give the president even more power than the AUMF granted to Bush after 9/11, which is still in place today.

Source

as a "new authorization" of the AUMF -The Authorization for Use of Military Force-which was passed in 2001 post 9/11.

Here's the 2001 PDF.

You don't have to worry about that anymore.

Where have you been?

We get attacked by gun wielding terrorists, our president blames a gun, he is also apologizing to Iran and making deals with them. Should I mention just the flat out cold shoulder to N Korea.

World police?
You must be mistaken.

Some of it quoted:

STATEMENTS ON INTRODUCED BILLS AND JOINT RESOLUTIONS By Mr. MCCONNELL (for himself, Mr. GRAHAM, Mr. COATS, Mr. HATCH, and Mrs. ERNST): S.J. Res. 29. A joint resolution to authorize the use of United States Armed Forces against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant and its associated forces; read the first time. Mr. MCCONNELL. Mr. President, I ask unanimous consent that the text of the joint resolution be printed in the RECORD. There being no objection, the text of the joint resolution was ordered to be printed in the RECORD, as follows:

well, they're getting there, next year it will be great britain and canada...
of course, there's gonna have to be a 250% tax increase before they can succeed...

somewhere, in all those international laws, you'd think that there would be one that would make going into any country you want and just blowing things up, would be against international law, an act of war against the country, something? but well, our fine gov't somehow got the notion that they have the right to do it.

So. Not "international martial law?"
Not the military takeover of foreign governments?
You mean it was hyperbole?

Hopefully it will be in his old stomping grounds.

Specifically the south side of Chicago!

I bet he can find some actual " assault rifles" in the hands of the gang bangers.

i think it will be interesting to read or hear Rand Paul's reaction to this Resolution. Another filibuster type action perhaps? I can hardly wait until this dialog is out there on the Internets.
