Hi gang,
Here is a list of the British militaries R&D, secret and not so secret bases and establishments and a possible front company who controls most of it, which also is responsible for all these genetic and germ warfare experiments that weve all come to love
Please bare with me, its quite a long post, but it is very interesting.
Its just to show that the U.K have their own Dulces and area 51s, we cant let America take all the credit, now can we lol.

You remember earlier in the post I mentioned the possible front company called QinetiQ (pronounced kinetic) well here is a link to their website which should help explain more about what they do, it'll save me having to copy and paste all the info.
When you click on the link, if you go down about a third of the page and go to the drop down option called MEET THE TEAM.
It tells you who is in charge of the show, it reads like a who's who of people that are definitely in the know about the bigger picture.
I have also provide a link to another website, this is about a guy who said he used to work in one of these underground bases in England.
Again, if you made it this far the post, thank you for reading it I know it's long, but there was'nt much I could do about, but hopefully it'll give people a new direction to look in.
Later.

I feel so proud to be British

Also, as I live in Wiltshire and have visited almost all of those sites you mention here, I just want to point out that Rudloe Manor does look like a massive hotel, but its operations are underground. This is one of the UK's most secretive facilities that is in the public's view.

Also, RAF Machrihanish in Scotland is a Navy SEALs base location in the UK. It has also been linked to the Aurora and F-117a's.

Reply on the old board by Bagpuss

My brother works as a groundsman for Rudloe Manor....

He tells me there is a secret pipeline linking all government sites in the UK along with a transport network. Apparently helicopters fly along the route of the tunnel 24/7 to ensure there are no suspicious activities. This is a major fuel line for the Army and if someone where to destroy / blow it up there would be catastrophic consequences.

Kent: Army - Sir John Moore Barracks, Shorncliffe Camp, Folkestone

I've been there quite a few times. It's a training camp.

There are two more camps I've been to in Kent as well.

Invicta Barracks, Maidstone, Kent - a large Royal Engineers camp with a lot of equipment and vehicles. Currently undergoing a lot of building work. Some Gurkas (sp?) are aslo stationed here.

Rifle and tank range, Hyth, Kent - I don't know it's official name though.

I've also been to some other training areas throughout the South East but I don't remember their names :-/

Do you know how old this list is?

I just wondered as it has RAF Cottesmore down as a station for Tornado's but it stopped being the training base for the tri-lateral Alliance(UK, Germany, Italy) a couple of years ago and is now home to the No.1 Squadron of Harriers:
www.raf-cott.demon.co.uk... />
There is also no mention of Staxton-Wold up near Scarborough, Yorks.
www.raf.mod.uk... (scroll to bottom of page). Its the oldest operational radar site in the world apparently.

North Luffenham in Leic. did also several years ago do some sort of special training, although I cannot confirm it was definitely SAS.

cheers

Liked the list though, will give me some new places to check out.

#ing hell, I live pretty close to quite a few of these. Like Lyneham... To be fair nt would make sense if there were a few weird things going on out there... All those empty hangers, serving no purpose... however there's been talk recently of housing Afghani refugees in the unused hangers, so... It's not the existence of the military bases that surprises me though thinking of the amount of land the MoD actually owns, but wht is meant to be going on there? Obviously the US bases are far more frequently documented, but we still have them on our doorsteps... odd.

Fairford's no secret around this neck of the woods.

Yeah, a lot of those bases are well within public site, especially in Wiltshire and Avon (seven fingered country that it is
) but I'm sure a few are a little bit dodgy. Fairford definitely aint though, I've been out there myself, you can drive right up to it, a lot of it's not even used anymore, so... But it's always nice to think they're watching you...

I served with the Army and was stationed at Marchwood for four years. The place is just that, a military port serviced by what was the Royal Corps of Transport.
It also held a small Royal Engineers Diving School, a Sailmaking Workshop, a Boatbuilding Workshop, the usual REME workshop and the Logistics Group, responsible for the movement of goods around the world. Oh yes, and there was also a yacht club. During the early 1970s, they incorporated the amphibian squadron based at Fremington. It also had the usual military dog teams and guards.

The secret pipelines that were mentioned are not all that secret. There are indicators along public highways that show where they are, indicated by a white, roof-shaped marker on top of a pole. You can also buy maps that show where they are. Channel 4 did a program about them not many months ago, can't remember what it was called though.

Oh yes...the signs that you might see from the motorways, that say WORKS, are not. They are secret military establishments.

I heard rumors of a secret Australian test site under Uluru (Ayers Rock) the other day.

I dont really believe the rumors though, considering thousands of tourists go there every year. I guess the most controversy we can hope for here is the Woomera Detention centre and the Asylum seekers

While I was stationed at Marchwood in the early 1970s, I remember a time when I had to drive a truck full of small 'cases' to a base near Tewksbury, along with my mate, who drove a Land Rover carrying one case.
We weren't told what was in the cases but we were told to carry gas masks and not to stop for anything. We were given a police escort for most of the trip.

After we had unloaded at the Tewksbury base, we enquired as to what was in the cases and were told that the cases I carried contained MUSTARD GAS GRENADES and the one my mate carried was a BOTTLE of the stuff.

I can understand if this list is a bit old but there is much more going on at Boolmer than just Sea King's. I live right next to Newcastle Airport and we get Apaches (US and Brits) going to and from as well as Hercules, Tornado's and AWACS. Also i play golf at Matfen in the Northumberland countryside and every sunday between 10:00am and 1:00pm atleast 5-10 F-15's fly past very low about 1000-2000 ft. Hope this adds to your infromation.

I totally disagree about QinetiQ being a front company that runs everything. If that were the case why has the government just sold 1/3 of it to and American company (Carlyle Group)? Also establishments such as Porton Down are actually a part of DSTL (Defence Science and Technology Laboratory).

the Carlyle Group are actually heavily involved in the US Army and its directors include John Major and George W.Bush Snr. So the fact we sold part of the company to them doesn't mean they're not a front company.

There's a Navy training center called Pant-y-Rhiw in the Talybont forest near Talybont-on-Usk, Powys you failed to mention!

The trainers there seem to spend all their time in the pubs in Talybont, yammering on in posh public school accents and eating expensive meals!!

You have also forgotten Foulness Island. It's owned by the MoD and is pretty damn secretive, although there is a handful of people living on there. My dad knows one, and you have to sign all this stuff to go visit him. I'm not sure what goes on on it now, but you hear guns firing now and again, and I live about 10 miles from it

Just a few notes on Foulness.

On Foulness is a Atomic Weapons Establishment used for R&D

AWE Foulness is a 2000 acre high explosive test range on Foulness Island at the northern edge of the Thames estuary near Shoeburyness. A variety of tests are conducted at the range, including weapons development and safety, and simulation of nuclear weapon blast effects.
globalsecurity.org

IN 2002 QinetiQ, yes them again, got a contract to cotinue the work there,

Foulness was (for many years) controlled by the military, and used as a proving ground over marsh sands for munitions.  In 2003, QinetiQ was awarded a contract to conduct this work and, whilst the MOD retains ownership of the island,  access is controlled through QinetiQ

at the same time QinetiQ reimposed restrictions on the roads on the Island.

he beginning of 1992 when the Ministry of Defence decided the "public" road was now a "private" road and all classes of traffic would require permission to use it. A letter to the Prime Minister (John Major) brought a rapid reversal of that decision.

At the beginning of 2002 QinetiQ reimposed the restrictions upon all classes of traffic. This time a letter to the Prime Minister had no effect. The question of the status of the new road is still unresolved.

Explosions (Foulness Island)

Mr. Gale: To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what assessment his Department has made of the effect of the noise, shockwaves and vibration caused by the detonation of high explosives at Foulness Island upon those living in Herne Bay suffering from terminal cancer. [152134]

Dr. Moonie [holding answer 5 March 2001]: Two vibration assessments have been carried out between 30 January and 28 February 2000 and between 5 October and 5 November 2000.

Both studies concluded that at no time during the survey period did any of the vibration levels, ground or airborne, approach those levels necessary for the possible onset of the most cosmetic of damage. The reports also highlighted that there seemed to be no correlation between events at Shoeburyness, recordable vibration levels and complains, and that passing traffic produced greater vibration levels.

The reports did not cover the impact of noise and vibration levels on specific susceptible individuals; nor have any other assessments been made of effects on cancer sufferers.

hope this is of intresst.

i live near the bently priory one and the northwood base. All i will say about the Northwood (NATO) one is that there is always at least 1 soldier with some sorta machine gun at the gates, i think they have tennis courts!! The entrance is on a main road, where every1 commutin through early in the morning is likely to have to wait in sloooow moving traffic, and get plenty of time to stare at the base. Never thought about seeing if the soldiers go to any of the local pubs, although i doubt they would talk about the underground levels even if really drunk.

I wish we could look inside every single base"!!!! the suspense about what is really goin on is too much to bear.lol

About 10 years ago I had to do an inspection on a special door on RAF Alconbury in Cambridgeshire. I was taken into a building no larger than 20' square. The entrance door was about 2' thick. Once inside all there was were stairs going down. We went down 8 levels and into a large room full of screens and computers. As I was escorted out of the room I looked down the stairs and could see at least another 4 levels below me. I think this undergroud facility was something to do with the TR-1A (U2R) aircraft stationed there at the time. There were corridors going off from various levels from the stairs. I would have loved to have been given free range to explore!!!.

What is known about this Military Base? I have been doing research and someone I speak to online claimes that they have seen a object in the sky: "I thought that they must have helicopters at first and i guessed that they were at a bout 4 and a half thousand feet . it was a real clear night. suddenly they both stopped went STRAIGHT at a massive speed, stopped, then moved down again, then both made a 360 degree loop the loop in the air and continued to perform horrendously erratic manouevers impossible for copters and planes, then hovered motionless for another minute. then they darted east at an impossible speed and dissapeared."

Does anyone know of any other reports of this base being used to test New planes or having similar sightings or rumours about it?
