Journeys Unknown

I once wove the dreams of ages,
Drew mountains from the ground,
Threw lightning from the cloud tops,
With great force and furious sound,
I once bound about my fists,
Wraps of purest energy,
And smote the foes of God and man,
In a land where I was free,

I once slew the heart of darkness,
Its last beat thumped in my fist,
And I cast it into balefire,
With a mere flick of my wrist,
And the trumpets sounded once,
Never to sound again...

And I awoke still abed,
With memories fleeing my head,
And the world still turned,
The sun still burned,
And no one ever knew,
The evil that I slew,
And now I know no more,
As I once again begin to snore.

Perhaps so. I have been understandably bogged down with things of late, but I feel much better having shaken out the cobwebs a little.
