Can't see users avatars

I'm just wondering why I don't see anybody's avatars unless I go to their profile.
I know when I first started on ATS you could see them in threads, I no longer do...

I'm sure it's just a setting on my end, I just don't know where or how to change that, any help is appreciated.

If you click the little arrow down button in the banner up top, it should drop down another menu. Click "account." Then scroll down to where it says avatars, and make sure desktop avatars are switched to "on" or "show."

I have them both set to "show", and have for awhile. That's why I finally decided to post and ask.

How peculiar. And shutting down and restarting your browser doesn't do anything? How about clearing cookies and cache? What all do you see in the mini profiles on the left? Background images at all? BG Colors? Text colors?

I just see the Name and everything they use to show, just without an avatar background. It's all gray, or white depending on which colors I pick for the site theme.

That's all I get no matter what browser I use, and it's the same on mobile too.

It's been this way for me since the newest site upgrade, it just didn't bother me enough to warrant asking about it. Really, it still doesn't, I'm just wondering why.

ETA-I do see the different text colors for the names though. Just a blank background

Sounds like a browser compatibility issue to me. I can't really be of more help there though since I wasn't around from the old ATS to new ATS updates to know of what things changed in that respect.

Possibly adblock, or browser as said above.

That only happens to me when I'm not logged in, but you obviously are....

Screen sizing like on phones, or difference between desktop and mobile version can make them disappear.

Try shrinking and switching versions....

New computer and I still don't see anyones avatars.

I just checked my settings again, and I have all my settings set so that I see them, but to no avail

Just for grins, did you try with them in the "off" position?

I remember the settings were odd when I joined up, to see them.


YES! my setting is on "HIDE"!

both desktop and mobile.
