Thoughts?

I've watched it, and I prefer him in character as a jerk

Its ok so far, I hope he finds his feet more.

Has anyone else watched it and what did you think of him as the new host of the Late Show?

I like the parts before the guest, seems more classic colbert.
Not bad though so far, think it will only get better as well.

I was worried that they would take out what makes Steve Steve but he's only toned down a little. Better than I expected.

Yeah the guests were kinda hard to watch, just a matter of getting use to his new interviewing format. Not letting Jeb! talk much was hilarious as were the crowd not applauding him when he came out

Man the crowd was dead silent the whole time lol.
Did you watch the full interview? Been meaning to but just haven't yet.

He actually made a lot of sense.... IF you believe what he's saying.

Look at what you said - logically.

"He actually a lot of sense" - you found his argument compeling. "...if you believe" but only if you 'believe'. Believe what - him, the person not the 'sense' that 'he' made.

So what is it reason or belief? One connotes an open mind; the other, closed.

Well it really boils down to one metaphor. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."

AND I give HW(Daddy) a pass. I think he was a pretty good prez.

I was happy to see he can still be silly. Format so far seems to be the first 30 minutes of his silliness (my fav) and then the interviews. His "non-nation" interviewing skills need some tweaking, but it will come I think. The interview with Elon Musk was a little awkward at times.

His interview with Musk never became 'fluid' ya know? Like no real conversation ever developed.

so its not toned down and full of fluff, or does it has the right amount of fluff and still edgy?

i hope he remains the same 'Colbert'. even though his writing staff might be on the 'PC' side now.

Samo-Samo. Why do these shows for the last 60 years always follow the same tired (front of the house) Steve Allen/Johnny Carson format; (the desk, the house band, the obnoxious live audience) and most of all: HAND PICKED GUESTS thought to be interesting to some vague demographic. Do the show from the perspective of a 'Larry Sanders' style "behind the scenes". What happened behind the scenes of "Mr. Rogers Neighborhood"?

He's defn found his pace, he really is quick witted .

Ya I was planned on just watching the part of the show before the guest till I saw Bernie was gonna be on.

Now I will say Bernie did kinda dodge a how question, Colbert asked him about a tax raise and he didn't really answer yes or no.
But good appearance for him regardless.

Im not sure he dodged it so much as the noisy crowd and quick moving stephen pulled him along.
