Police have approached a suspects house with guns drawn, witnesses report.

Halifax Mall and Local Schools Under Lock Down

Terrorist attack?

They're not sayin'.

Yet.

Even though it happened hours ago the news is still announcing it in such a way as to imply yet another terrorist attack.

Letting it fester a bit.

Like the terrorist tunnel last week, which turned out to be nothing but a hole in the ground, this will turn out to be the same.

Actually it's in Dartmouth. Across the bridges from Halifax. My hometown. Don't be calling "terrorism" yet. Dartmouth is a nasty town.

Police, including a Canine Unit have "surrounded a beige bungalow" where they believe the "Threat" may be holding up.

People here already claiming a terrorist attack, and then immediately claiming a "false flag", all within the first page of discussion about it and without knowing anything at all about what's actually happening.

If this doesn't show pretty well how irrational ATS has become I don't know what will.

None of you know what's actually happening there, and yet right off the bat it's a "terrorist attack" and even a "false flag" too!

The mind boggles.

It was big news last week when it was reported ISIS was targeting the West Edmonton Mall in Alberta,

This news item is being played off the outstanding situation here.

TERRORISM is definitely being implied.

I have friends in Dartmouth.

You mustn't have been aware of last weeks video from Al-Shabaab.

This is the second threat on Halifax mall in two weeks!!

Yessir it is.

And you know what I like at least, the media haven't gone crazy about it. No speculation, just facts.

Uhrm, no.

What DID happen three weeks ago was an actual terrorist conspiracy to shoot up another Halifax mall was foiled and arrests made.

One of the conspirators was found shot to death.

www.thestar.com...

Since when is "going to a mall to commit massacre" NOT considered "Terrorism"?

And it starts with this...

Edmonton police say there is “no imminent threat” to the city after the al-Qaeda-linked group al-Shabaab named West Edmonton Mall as a possible target in video online. The video appears to call on followers to attack shopping malls in the United States, U.K., France, and Canada. “This was a very general comment ... it wasn’t a specific threat,” said Brian Simpson, deputy chief of the Edmonton Police Service.

Malls around the world have always been targets for groups like this, and they always will be. Just because some nutter in a video says something doesn't mean we need to abandon all notion of evidence and jump to conclusions about what might be happening.

The existence of that video and the suggested threat doesn't mean that this instantly MUST BE a terrorist incident, and it certainly doesn't mean that this MUST BE a "false flag".

The fact that people have been making such wildly assuming comments within the first ten responses to this shows us how ridiculous ATS can be.

Where?

Can you show me the BREAKING NEWS, we won't leave this coverage till it's all OVER, type deal?

Cause it's not even on CBC's HOME PAGE. I had to navigate specifically to the NS section.

Wildly assuming?

They arrested two of the conspirators and found the other one dead two weeks ago in the same town!

This is the second actual mall event after the threats made by ISIS three weeks ago!

If we aren't supposed to assume TERRORISM!!! the news would be reporting it as unrelated to the Big Scary Threat from Al-Shabaab.

Nobody's going off half cocked here. The media is milking this for all it's worth.

Nope.

All that's happened is that the Police received information about a danger posed to the mall (could be anything, including a robbery, a random shooting, a hoax...)
They shut it down.
A school in the vicinity also closed its doors (sensible, and happens in all cases like this)
And a house reportedly surrounded (might not even be related to the story)

But, of course, some here think this is instantly terrorism and even that it's a false flag, without knowing anything more than we do and without basing their opinions in anything other than doom porn fetishism.

No, you're milking it for all it's worth without knowing anything about what is actually happening.

The threat they are responding to could be terrorism, but it could also be a hoax, it could be a robbery, it could be a random shooting by a teenager with more hormones and more guns than he knows what to do with.

The school being closed down is normal practice when there's such an intense police presence over an incident.

The house being surrounded might not even be related to the mall incident, that could be a domestic with a hostage situation for all you know.

The fact is you know nothing more about this than anyone else here, so claiming that it must be terrorism, and then someone else claiming that it also must be a false flag, and claiming that the media are making such a big deal out of it... it's all nonsense.

Wait for some facts, wait for some evidence, speculating on ATS just embarrasses us all.

Ofcourse they are covering it, but compare it to the American coverage of a similar thing, I think you'll find it's toned down QUITE a in comparison. And that's what I was trying to say.

Aw, are you disappointed that your imagined false flag terrorist attack has resulted in nothing?

I wonder how many times you repeat this kind of nonsense without it ever resulting in anything, and thereby almost radicalizing yourself with your own BS?
