Warning Extremely Graphic:

Source (Video)

In a dramatic confrontation caught on video, Los Angeles police shot and killed a homeless man in the heart of downtown's bustling skid row Sunday.

A video of the incident posted on Facebook (contains foul language) shows a group of officers getting into a scuffle with a man standing on a sidewalk littered with tents and other debris.

During the struggle, one officer drops his nightstick, which is picked up by a woman on the street. Two officers handcuff the woman.

The man continues to scuffle with four of the officers, even after he's wrestled to the ground. One of the officers is heard saying "Drop the gun. Drop the gun."

Wow, when will it end....When will this issue be addressed.

Saw this a couple hours ago, and it's really disturbing and scary. To know that they will also get away with it drives me crazy...

Yeah, you can hear the cops yell drop the gun, but because the video is so far away and shaky, you don't see if the homeless man had a gun, or if the cops are lying about a gun and just shooting to get their frustration out. I hope another video comes out from another angle to allow us to make a better decision. Somehow I doubt these cops were wearing bodycams. Until then, it's very hard to decide. I'll reserve until I know more, but I'll err on the side of caution only because lately I don't trust the police.

Watching the video I can only think that maybe the homeless man started to reach for one of their guns. Still would be extremely frightening to see.

You can hear one of the cops say, "I lost my gun, and after that he got my gun."

I didn't hear any one say that they lost a gun just get off my gun.

That lady that picked up the stick got lucky too. She could have faced the same fate as the man.

I have to initially side with the police on this one with both people involved.

The lady grabbed the baton and took a fighting stance... gonna get tackled, no 2 ways about it.

As for the 'homeless man' ( always have to use terms to make the person sound more weak/innocent/victimized) he did fight. It is hard to tell from the footage provided exactly what took place, but the firing officer's reaction and swiftness in retreating looks like he was fearing for his life. I feel this one in likely justified.

At 20 seconds, he`s says first "I lost my gun" and right after that "drop my gun."

Ya took a listen and still don't hear that, hear get off my gun.
And doom, he is what he is, a homeless man.

He definitely fought with the police, and we all know that is a death sentence

I clearly hear it, I don`t know how good your sound card is on your PC.

The cop should not defend himself ?

...he should not have taken the gun from the cop.

I am sure you do clearly hear it, over all the other people yelling and screaming it makes sense you could clearly hear something.

Cops have the right to defend them selfs, just seems like killing the person is always that defense.

If he had the gun then fine but I think there is more info to come out yet.

Not going to watch the video. Don't want to subject myself to that. I can only say that I do a good deal of shopping there, the fashion district and the flower district are right there, where skid row is. It's a very dangerous neighbor hood! People who aren't savvy get mugged and beaten and worse there, all the time!

There's a lot of crazies hanging out there, yelling and cursing at random people from the gutters, swatting at ghosts and what not. It's a crazy, bat sh$T crazy, place!

Haha whats with the melodrama?
I have many friends in Scottsdale, AZ and Hollywood, Ca involved in the movie/tv biz.

Lemme know if you are looking into acting man, might be able to get you a gig, or at least an audition.

It's perfect, facts don't really matter. You just have to sway the audience or give the editing team something to work with.

Sounds like during the scuffle the Homeless guy took one of the officers guns. So Yeah at that point they have to shoot him.

Also that lady deserved to be arrested also, that was just retarded.

Why do people get so up in arms about these dummies that have run in's with the law? They are stupid, it's why it happens to them.

The homeless guy had total control over how far this was going to go. he decided to test out Darwin's theories and paid the price.

If you have 4 cops tacking and fighting with you, then you are doing something very wrong, and need to just stop, and let it get settled when everybody calms down.

Just saying that it is not making something up if he is what he is.
Is it not a fact that he is homeless?

Thanks on the acting offer tho, not my cup of tea.

Knowing that, watching the train wreck is something you can't tear your eyes away from, is it?

Unwanted pets get rounded up and thrown into shelters. To my knowledge, nobody lets them out to wander after they've been caged. Some owners, anticipating the inevitable outcome, elect to drop their unwanted pets off in the wilderness to give them a fighting chance at life. Living in the woods is hard. It's real hard. People oughta know that too.

Naaa, don't act coy.

Would you have stated "doom, he is what he is, a home owner"?

Maybe a gig as a writer? That's easier to get into than acting..

If you said they were saying it to give him/her a label then sure.

You were the one that said they were going out of their way to call him a homeless man, I just said that he was what he was.

And enough with the job offers, we can talk about the topic at hand not me
