An interesting metaphysical question/ idea overcame me today, what is a demon? We hear about them enough but what are they? Where do they come from? Are they real or are they just a fragment of our imagination. If they don’t come how do they overcome us humans? Do they have some kind of a back door that we are unaware of. Often we just cant answer these kind of questions, but maybe on ATS we may get a varied enough response to get the anatomy of the demon.

To 1 subjectively a demon is a classification or perception of those more MALEVOLENT CREATOR Creations who are part of the WHOLE* who also may primarily Exist in malevolent locations within EXISTENCE that may be perceived as dark realms or labeled hell...

Well, they are pure fantasy, I can tell you that. But once upon a time they were seen as 'real'.

The first known crop circles were said to be caused by 'demons', when in reality it was most likely an angry neighbor farmer or worker burning someone else crops and it burned in a circular pattern.

In modern fantasy tho when I think of a demon I think of the Warcraft universe, I grew up with those games, and in World of Warcraft, the burning legion is basically all demons hell bent on chaos and total universal domination for the torment their leader had to go through.
They are controlled by certain over lords and powerful beings, so the majority of them are merely minions.
But the warcraft lore goes a lot deeper and broad than that, it goes into the realm of Diablo franchise, and deep into it's creators heritage which is basically Persian.

It's an alternative to the typical 'demon' you'd expect, but keeps a lot of the same aspects that they are based of mischief or total control of something or someone.

Demons are disembodied spirits of the nephilim, they are the giants from genesis 6. The theological position of genesis 6 is commen -- that fallen angels cohabited with human females and they bore children that became giants the old men of renown. God caused a flood becouse the giants and their fathers messed up Gods creation or tried to so after the flood these beings [giants] became disembodied spirits which bother us today claiming to be allsorts of people.

Some may at times manifest within 3dimensional physical boundaries as human or possible nonhumans. This way they are able to infest a realm location in order to manage or manipulate a CREATOR Creation ENERGY Group or CCEG for their interest. Perhaps at times to cause more death and disruption in their location of interest to send more metaphysical Soul/Spirit/Internal Energy to their primary location or to open portal's from their home to the realm they have been sent to infest or been manifested in 3dimensional form within via blood formulas which shed enough blood and initiate pain to open the doors...

I think they are projections of our shadow-self. We create a shadow-self when we reject and repress parts of our nature. Then we project our shadow-self, via our innate psychic ability, onto other people whom we demonize, and into our myths, onto objects or animals, and into the collective unconscious where they take on symbolic form and become semi-autonomous.

Spirits of haunted houses, spirits talking to mediums, spirits claiming to be relatives and much more, maybe even the so called ufo phenomenon with help from the fallen angels. Something is going off is it this.

I think Demons are the representation of the evil that resides inside all of us. The thing that makes you do the things you normally wouldn't or shouldn't.

I would be very, very careful about delving into this subject or deciding that they are "pure fantasy." I've listened to a number of interviews with highly credible priests and demonologists who think otherwise and warn against opening doors to them through curiosity.

Spirits who either only know evil or choose to only do evil. I think they're real. And they're behind a lot of phenomena we attribute to other sources..

Yes demons are real—interdimensional beings bent on leading us astray.

Other dimensions are theoretically possible and even probable. Just because our science hasn't proven it doesn't mean it won't come to light in the near future.

But angels are real, too.

Actually, the definition encompasses both types, but the ones that I referred to are people who have experience in dealing with demons firsthand. Ed and Lorraine Warren are examples. (Actually, Ed is a demonologist and his wife is a medium, but they work as a team.) Adam Blai is another. These are people who have had contact and confrontations with demons for many years. When you hear them speak about these occurrences, they sound quite matter-of-fact, as if it's just an accepted reality that they deal with every day.

Please note that every single exorcist or demonologist I've ever heard says very strongly that you must be called to do this sort of work, and not to pursue it for your own ends.
