"On the eve of Super Bowl Sunday, bettors began pushing more money behind the Seattle Seahawks, moving the spread to a pick'em on the betting board at some sportsbooks and forcing other books to adjust their lines lower. Bovada had the biggest spread at -2 for the Patriots, but it moved a half point to -1.5. It remains the best line for Seahawk bettors."

Super Bowl 2015: Odds Move Overnight with Late Seattle Money

This has been a problematic match-up from the beginning, amid Deflategate and Seattle's follow-up year also ending up at the Super Bowl.

So it's interesting to see how the bettors are leaning, as well as that "late money" from Seattle that literally moved the odds.

yeah I can see most putting money on the hawks. Its funny looking at those lines when alot of the anaylst have the game at a bigger separation, I am rooting for the seahawks but what I have is 31-24patriots. I see points in this and not that much of a defensive struggle.

But it would be great if the hawks won 2 championships in a row for the Seattle area

SEA HAWKS!

Bookies are going to make a killing, I wonder how much they're gonna pay the refs and coaches/players to take a dive....

Are you saying that Seattle folks are betting procrastinators?

To move the betting line by half a point the night before one of the biggest sports betting events is incredible to me. A massive amount of Seattle money must have been put down to do that. Millions I'd gather.

Go Hawks Go!

Thanks for your post.

The famous Massey-Peabody Prediction is leaning towards a Patriot win, but with a very small predictive margin.

Thanks for your post. I've thought the Super Bowl was "fixed" for years now. I've seen star receivers drop perfectly thrown passes. I've seen Refs make bad calls that cost one side the win. I've seen star quarterbacks rushed out of the pocket by a worthless offensive line so often, that 99% of the passes never connect - except for interceptions.

But if you have the money to bet, it's better odds than buying a mega-lottery ticket. You just have to have iron-clad assurances from multiple sources which team has been pre-designated the winner.

And apparently Prison Planet agrees:

I wouldn't say "procrastinators." More like "a calculated move to shift the betting lines" - which it did.

Seattle's top heavy in Hi Tech geniuses, remember, with Microsoft and Amazon headquartered there, among others.

Seattle winning 2 superbowls is bad for the NFL. Now any other team has to win 3 in a row to beat that legacy. Majority of bets will be placed on the hawks to win. We all know what that means in the world of fixed sports. Patriots win. Bookies make a fortune. Tom Brady will go down as the one of the most controversial best qbs to ever play the game. Betting aside, i'm sure many football fans would love to see hawks fans shut up 4 once. I remember them throwing popcorn and food at the injured Bowman in last years SF playoff game. Classy

Thanks for your post.

I didn't know this before, but there are actually 8 NFL teams that have won back-to-back Super Bowls. One of which is the Patriots, who won Super Bowls XXXVIII and XXXIX.

I'LL HAVE ANOTHER: BACK-TO-BACK SUPER BOWL WINS

Plus, there are petitions out there to make the Pats replay that controversial playoff game. So if the Patriots win the Super Bowl - yet have to replay the playoff game that got them to the Super Bowl ... Then what?

This won't be another washed up has been Manning matchup. The Pats QB is in his prime yet, not one foot in an elderly home.

That's why I've mentioned it, I've watched the NFL to see the same exact things you are talking about. That's why if I'm betting money, I'll go with regular season games.

The Seahawks are owned by Microsoft co-founder, Paul Allen, who Lives Large as a 2X cancer survivor. He also owns 2 other Northwest sports teams. So there are undoubtedly billions available to be bet on the Seahawks - especially if you include the expanded-fandom of the other teams Allen owns.

Thanks for your post.

And, Yeah, very wise of you to stay away from betting on the Super Bowl. Especially this year, with a line of zero - no favorite, no underdog.

I'm saying the Patriots take it by 7. Gronk is going to take up some space. There receivers are quicker, and there o-line is going to give Brady time. Watch Blount. I don't think Seahawks have the weapons on offence. By the way .............I love football...................and hate the Patriots. I not pulling for either team. But love a good game.

I have a straight bet of 250.00 on the Seahawks so, they better bring the magic like they did in the championship game.

Fingers crossed. God, I hope I don't regret this.

Show mama the money Seahawks. Show mama the money.

Thanks for your post. That's the sentiment of the rest of the U.S. without a horse in this race: "I just want to watch a good game." (HINT: I always know the Super Bowl's a snore if the guys in the booth start ignoring the game and talk 'best restaurants around'.)

The game's on now, as I speak. I'll probably watch the last half, so ... Enjoy!

Tied game right before half-time! I love the close ones.

Way more interesting than last year....so far.

I thought that interception might get Brady frazzled but, they came back for a TD.

Oh well, Seattle is back in the game. That's all that matters at this point.

Hey, you know what? If Seattle wins, I'll donate $50.00 to ATS.
