Don't kill the messenger, just disagree and be respectful. I am American citizen, immigrated from Russia early 1990s, wealthy parents spent money in US embassy.

I speak fluent Russian and German, Ukrainian too (old Russian joke), I suppose English too though I never looked at it that way. I read world wide information but much more importantly I spend much time talking to PhD level Russians based mostly in Moscow.

Whoa hold your horses, I am gonna tell you.

There are two camps in Russia among intellectuals as of this moment.

Camp A = believes US/NATO/WEST is out get them, slowly over time, economically first, militarily second, culturally third, and religiously fourth.

Camp B = believe US and west is out to get them in all the 4 ways as camp A

The difference and disagreements between the two camps is how to respond. One group believes that full out proxy war needs to be opened against the west using everything at the disposal. Terrorism, CyberWar, PsyOps, small scale EMP attacking Chicago futures exchange, BIO-Terrorism using proxies. Targeting black people specifically by whites to start race wars. Exploiting inequality, destabilizing US geological support using Scalar Waves.

This group pretty much wants Russia to come out swinging while economic resources still can provide such a counterattack while denying everything, and if it escalates to Full Blown Nuclear War which USA at that point would be the first to fire, this group doesn't see that at too big a loss because according to their calculations US won't rest till it nukes Russian Federation one day anyway. Regardless 10 years from now or 25 years from now.

According to their logic, why postpone the inevitable, the US is anyway following a plan and they won't back off. According to this group, rather than nuclear war, these counterattacks might force USA to the negotiating table where a deal would be made to back off Russia. Such a deal would perhaps be expected to hold for about 25-35 years, after which another global proxy war would be needed, but as Americans like to say "we will cross that bridge when we come to it".

Second group believes that instead of opening a slew of proxy wars and nastiness that will without a doubt risk a nuclear exchange. Russia should simply bide their time until US over-exhausts itself both financially and culturally/psychologically. In the mean time Russia will build ever closer economic and military ties with Asia, though it will be difficult and slow to recover the loss of European market share, in the end it will be cheaper than war by a factor of 10 at the least. Turning completely to BRICS and Asia will ensure prosperity which in the future ANYWAY has to come from Asia because western populations are in too much debt. In the mean time US will collapse precisely because they won't have a war to save them. According to this group's calculations, US wants to goad Russia into making a mistake, and the smartest thing to do would be to deny them war.

They are thinking exactly what i thought they were thinking. I vote for camp B. The west is at the end of civilization. The economy is doomed to work. Capatalism is a dirty business and it's greed will be it's downfall. Please don't nuke me Russia.

As for group B I hope in some ways their plan will come to fruit although intellectuals are not known for vigorous hands on participation in their respective economies, because that is what russia needs beyond freedom of speech and laissez faire..,

Scalar Waves? So these intellectuals and PhDs are suggesting Russia use something that doesn't even exist in modern physics? Scalar wave weapons only exist in woo world and is a term only used by cranks and conspiracy theorists.

This is the only civilized way to cope with the actual mess.

Letting the USA exhaust itself is the strategy that will win.

The fruition of what the current presidential administration is working toward,

is exactly the second of the two ways the intelligentsia of Russian want to destroy the USA.

They need not worry, Obama is working hard to achieve their goals as is the intelligentsia of the Democratic Party.



The US is in the process of total implosion and self-destruction,

the Russians just need to take a chill pill

It looks like the cold war mentality/scenario never really went away...perhaps in both camps?

Not unlike the man caused global warming crowd/experts, lick the finger, stick it in the air and see which way the political winds are blowing...go with what's 'vogue'...and receives financial support....

There's a very revealing A&E History Channel episode where during the Reagan era, perhaps for far longer, the KGB and others were to look for evidence of an eminent U.S. nuclear attack against Mother Russia. Failure to 'find' evidence or finding evidence that counters that assumption would get you accused of sedition and far worse. So they'd 'find' something, real or imagined....

To believe that mentality didn't/doesn't exist in the west also would be naïve. There was a camp that believed the U.S. should have nuked China as a result of the Korean war...I believe MacArther made that public statement.

Ironically, it may be a good thing in one way. The belief that the other side has the stones to use those weapons gives those very weapons continued credibility. Without which they become nothing more than a wasted strategy....

However, it's inevitability as quoted by the Russian intellectuals isn't the majority opinion in the West.
Having seem reports of the training levels of Russian pilots...I.E. number of hours flying. It's stunning. A U.S./Western pilot can receive in 2-3 years what an average and successful Russian gets in his entire career.

I suspect that Putin uses parts of both plan A and B. Depends on the scenario and events beyond his control.

Either Russia uses it's nukes before the Missile Shield is ramped up enough to handle a massive first wave, or it loses the nuclear option for the most part (subs off the NY coast = close to unstoppable.

Sure the missile shield is 20-40 years away from that capability...but it's coming. Next time you talk to your PhD buddies in Moscow remind them of this.

Meanwhile, the European Union is getting stronger everyday. The EU is a good example of how a peaceful, global civilization can get started. Russia, China, America. They are all too big and they all want too much power for themselves. They hold too much ''pride'' in who they are and their heritage, while this nationalistic pride is nothing more than a cultural illusion.

I live in Europe, and things are actually going quite well. Europe still has some of the highest living quantities available and holds the most socialistic countries (Russia is nowhere near to be seen on this list)

If you consider China or Russia to be a superpower, than the US is most certainly a hyperpower.

Funny how you never read/hear anyone state "I want to go to Russia to make a better life for myself and my family"... It's always USA.... Now, why is that? It's because Russia is a cold, depressed, censored place... Why would ANYONE choose to live there? In USA you are given opportunity to make anything of yourself...

And if Russia ever chose to battle the west, they would be annihilated fast... How does Russia believe they would have any legitimate shot of going up against all the countries of the West and NATO? And by the way, I'm not from the elite or rich 1%. I'm a student from a middle/lower class family that is just trying to give it's two cents to the continuation of the most successful international program for the unification of nations in the history of mankind.

Of course things are not perfect here in the Netherlands (neither in the EU), but you're probably not going to find any other countries with a better living standard than here. Maybe if you move to Scandinavia or Switzerland (also in Europe, what a suprise that is!) or Canada and a few other exceptions (with almost all the west).
