8 Children found stabbed to death in Cairns, Australia. - Breaking

POLICE have surrounded a house in the Cairns suburb of Manoora where as many as eight children have been stabbed to death.
Murray St has been blocked off as officers swarm the area. The children’s ages are believed to be between 18 months to 15 years.
The circumstances are currently unknown but a woman is believed to have been taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds to her upper body and around her neck.
Detectives are reportedly searching through the yard of the property.
Ambulances also remain on scene.

What the hell is going on in the world? seriously.. I am just at a loss.

My whole firm doesn't even have an office in Cairns, but we're all speechless as this is unfolding.

Cairns, of all places? such a beautiful paradise nestled in the top corner..

The World is getting more insane by the minute and sadly it's kids that are the most vulnerable.

A police source has told The Australian the woman has stabbed the children and then herself in a suicide attempt, leaving her unconscious and in hospital.

There are reports of another adult dead too. WTF people!?
Bring back metal health facilities to keep dangerous people out of society. People don't just snap and do something like this, she would be known to some type of authority such as Child Welfare or police etc.

Unfortunately I think that's a common trend. Christmas can be real rough on people emotionally.

Incredibly sad news.

This is so sad...another day with another story of sick people killing children. They are innocent and adults are supposed to protect them, not harm them.

How can someone do this to children, it's incomprehensible.

I worry about the world we are leaving for our children, what will this place be like when they are adults?

That's so sad. I remember an Aussie from up that way that said you had to be aware of going "Tropo" the slang phrase for getting confused and disorientated with the heat and humidity. He quoted a guy that was trying to sleep during the day, but the next door neighbour started to do his lawns. He went out and told him to stop the noise of the mower, but he continued mowing, the next time he came out it was with a pistol and he shot the neighbour in the head.

It is understood that police were familiar with the family. Murray St is a diverse multicultural area with a mix of both private and public housing in a western suburb of Cairns. It has had a stigma in previous years as a place to avoid for people looking to move to the area.

This is totally heartbreaking i don't even have words for this, what a monster.

Eight children and in this area. Most families in Australia have 2 or 3 children.

Obviously mental health issues and I would guess, multiple fathers.

Governments do not like dealing with mental health, the system is a shambles. When churches get involved ... well we know what happens then and private companies are only interested in the profit margin.

The thing is, if we put decent resources into child mental health, the children would not have problems as adults.

This applies to most Western countries. Very sad day for my country.

Now we watch as the politicians duck for cover and probably have yet another useless inquiry until we all forget about it.
