Been battered at work this week three times all for seven quid an hour.

I feel bruised and low today...
Been looking after a dude and he isn't having a good time at the moment and because Iam on his core team I look after him a lot and boy he hits hard.
I think I may have a little bit of kidney damage due to my wee wee being very dark (isn't normally) my shins are black with bruises from repeated kicks to them and my back.....I couldn't sleep last night due to the pain.
All for seven quid an hour and I must admit I don't think I can go on for much more.
Plus I have him again tomorrow, so I will try something different when he starts displaying behaviors, gonna try some classical music heck even some magic tricks to distract him...
I love the guy to bits but he is the hardest person I have looked after in my years of care work.
I dunno I just feel my job will be the death of me and I may as well go and work for tesco stacking shelves (I would earn more).
Sorry for the rant just need to let off steam.

I couldnt do that job dude. Although I was a carer for my dear old mam (bless her she was a diamond). The physical aspect would scare the crap out of me. Good luck for tomorrow.

I feel for ya

I broke up fights for the best part of a decade, and wrestling hyperactive teenagers/young adults who spent all day building their muscles learning blacksmithing and farming started to get a little old.

Then i'd get grief from the bosses because of all of my muscle strains gained cleaning up other people's screw ups. When i'd be called in as no once else fancied the challenge or was just making it worse.

Realistically such work has a limited shelf life, as when you lose your patience with it, and your tolerance and understanding start to go, it's best to find a new role.

We all have crap to deal with and its sometimes not as easy as it seems.

Yeah the thing that gets me also If I rang in sick tmr stating Iam in pain due to the beatings I can only get statutory sick pay which I can't afford to be on .

Nah I'm a person full of self doubt and self questioning all the time.
I have an inner karma meter and I was a bad lad when I was younger very selfish so I have some time to serve yet .

Do some spoiling of yourself this Friday night. Caregivers are far too short in this world, especially ones that actually care... humanity can't afford for you to get burnt out.

If I am not mistaken he works with physically and mentally disabled people. There is enough of that going on everywhere else...
