So any holiday theme will work? Totally up to the writer?

well, the spirit of the theme is winter solstice/hannukah/christmas/insert your favorite winter holiday here.

while easter stories would be a fun read, it should be a winter holiday story.

Lol tex,
I kinda figured that. Hmmm....perhaps I did not word my response as well as I should have.
We can write any kind of story we want as long as the "winter"/December holidays are mentioned?
Happy, sad, good, bad, fiction, non-fiction? Will poems be accepted? Short stories? Or are you looking for a specific style?
I would like to enter. Just looking for a little more information.
Thanks,
Quad

Well, the best piece of Christmas writing ever was a poem that began "Twas the night before Christmas."

It would be a travesty to not consider that worthy of a contest entry, right?

from the perspective of naming convention, do you guys keep winter as your cold season, or your warm season?

i have seen images of santa on a surfboard from an aussie advertisement online.

Cold = winter June july August.

Hot = Summer = December January, February.

Christmas is in summer.

Prawns, Lobster and salads is a traditional Chrissy lunch.
But so are lamb roasts and Barbies.

It is great living in a multicultural society/

Here you go - Yet another entry. It's not as dark as my previous ones (Can't really put a dark twist on this one). I think the title is appropriate, because I had the story formed, just couldn't put a name to it

From a fellow bad back sufferer, I wish You fast recoup. My 4 surgeries helped but minimally. At least I can walk better than before I had them.
Not going to do any 5k runs/walks again though. LOL!!! (not that I did any before)

I am loving the entries so far!!!

Best of luck and Happy Holidays!!! Syx.
