Huge battles broke out in Donetsk tonight, and about 4000 people have died. According to this site, it's a "Russian" invasion, but I doubt that to be the case as Donetsk is a pro-Russian territory. So this looks like the Ukranian army has decided to invade southeast Ukraine. According to Russian media

The Ukrainian army has been bombing the area, for quite some time ... despite the cease fire. Looks like NATO has been using the cease fire to refurbish the Ukrainian military with better weapons, to kill Russians.

In total around 4000 people have no died officially.

It`s the same thing which has been going on since ceasefire, but is getting more intense.

I notice the distorted language yet again. Since Donetsk is a city inside the country of Ukraine the native army (ukranian) cannot "invade" it. It's outsiders that "invade". So the invaders are the Russian military that are "not officially" there .......

I wish the Ukrainian people the best of luck. I still don't understand why Nato has not done anything to help these people. Actually I do understand. It's because no country wants to face up to Russia. Shameful really.

Cease fire was signed, GOOD

Russia and Ukraine and Europe made a gas deal so that everybody is happy during winter, GOOD

Kiev puppet government of West Ukraine received military weapons and goods from US and Canada, GOOD for Kiev.

Russia also sent more weapons and support for Eastern Ukrainians who want to separate. GOOD for them.

Kiev is attacking because they are now strong.

East is fighting back.

BAD, BAD FOR EVERYONE, except US of course, US is laughing while Europe and Russia are having problems.

US is such a nasty player.

Eastern Part of Ukraine have decided to separate and not accept illegal takeover of the government, does not accept new Kiev puppet government.

Stop Financing NGOs and staging revolutions, stop western support for new Kiev government, Stop trying to destroy economy of Europe and Russia so your economy in US looks better.

Donetsk is rebel controlled, so why would they be shelling themselves? Calling it an invasion or not, Kiev is the one doing the attacking. If the US army attacked an american city with artillery and airstrikes, killing thousands of civilians, you'd say "It's okay, they're US troops"?

Well let's see the school is near the airport that is being held by Ukraine military...a place the separatists have been trying to get back so shelling is coming from separatists in that area.

So you don't think an errant shell could have hit it, as I said only the Russian media source that the OP used says that Ukraine did the shelling no other source says that, so nobody knows who did it until it is investigated.

Calling it an invasion or not, Kiev is the one doing the attacking.

Wrong as the separatists were the one's who initially violated the cease fire the day after it was agreed upon, also know that the government has the right to fight an armed insurgency in their country...especially one being backed by a foreign government, AKA Russia.

If there is a foreign backed insurgency that is trying to take part of the US then yes they have that right to defend their homeland such as Ukraine does.

And you should also know that war is hell and you will have civilian casualties especially when one such as the separatists are using human shields by hiding in heavily populated civilian areas.

I'm sorry, but the "Gaza Defense" just doesn't cut it anymore. Apparently every civilian killed was a "human shield". It's just to convenient. How many people do you think would still be alive today if Kiev hadn't attacked the east? Maybe resorted to diplomacy first? As far as I can tell, the rebels haven't attacked Kiev yet so they can't claim defense.

So you have something that backs your assertion that the US sent military weapons to Ukraine, because they haven't unless bulletproof vests and night vision goggles are what your considering weapons then yes they did, but seeing as they aren't the US hasn't.

But Russia says they haven't, so have they or haven't they?
