Uploading pic issues.

All of a sudden I can't upload pics to my acct.

I can add pics that are previously stored - to posts.

When I try to add new content, it shows the loading bar at 100% for jpeg images without the process completing,
and 10% for gifs.

I am using chrome but have tried IE with the same non - result.

Java is up to date - I can't think of any reason for the sudden non compliance.

Any clues ?

Have you tried deleting a couple of older, disused images? It might be a capacity issue, although, I have no idea what the capacity for image storage per member is.

Might be worth a crack!

Sounds like you might need to clean house. With clouds becoming so common I wonder if they might increase our limits? I know nothing and when I think of how huge ATS is maybe that is a dumb suggestion, but hey, isn't my first, won't be my last! lol

Be careful cause what you delete will also disappear on the boards if you have used the pic in a thread.

Tried again - no joy.

BTW. This problem reared its head the other day - but resolved itself.

I had the impression at the time - that ATS was the prob. and all was good !

Have I worn out the function ?

I just tried uploading a pic (.jpeg) and there were no issues at all.

Have you checked that the pic you want to upload is 500 KB or less? That's supposed to be the allowable limit.

ETA: btw the animated .gif in your avatar is wayy too big. max allowed file is 75 KB and yours is :1,302.34 KB (1,333,594 bytes)

I said lager, not gnat urine!

Fosters is drunk more in Britain than anywhere else, and it is a stain on our reputations as Britons!

However, I do know that Aussies love a pint of cold beer, and ale is best served relatively warm! So it stands to reason that a lager beer would be more appropriate, do you not think?

Such an odd issue... I can't figure why you'd be having any trouble with image uploads. I mean, you've done heaps of them so it's clearly not a question of being new at it and making some mistake. So, I'm also wondering if it's related to capacity but frankly I have no idea if there is actually a set limit per member in that regard.

I'll do a staff thread to get attention for your thread. Hopefully one of our IT geek staff will have some ideas.

No worries.

FTR I've opened a staff thread where all staff can see it and asked for help for you. We have some very clued-up IT people on staff. If they can't help then we can ask Bill (SkepticOverlord) who writes the code for the site. It could be a little while before we get much action though because it's still very early over in the US.


My brew of choice used to be Southwark Bitter, but I lived in Sth. Aust. (Foster's was for tourists... ) Over here in Prague, one I like is Pilsner Urquell, which is brewed in Plsen in the west of the Czech Republic. It's the original place which gave "pilsener" its name.
