Yesterday morning, as I was hearding my daughters out the door and off to school my wife called out.
"Be intrepid at school today!"
my wife is big on giving the girls new words like that...things to give them encouragement and expand their vocabularies.
Anyway as we're getting the car my seven year old turns to me and asked.
"Daddy... what does 'Intrepid' mean?"
with full confidence I reply,
"It means to be 'Bold' and 'Brave' honey..."
right away she started crying...
"What's wrong baby girl?"
"But I want to have hair and be brave!"
Yup she thought I said 'Bald' and brave... and no amount of clarifying would help... no sir... my youngest will never be Intrepid, because she likes
her hair just the way it is!
