Does anyone in here have a clear view of the moon, because for the last five minutes i have seen a double crescent moon like this.
It's still there, location Denmark scandinavia looking north east.

There is a slight haze over it from a thin layer of clouds, but a clear double crescent.

I have seen a lot but nothing like this

Unfortunately my old Nokia phone is making a big blob when trying to take a picture, it would be really nice if someone else could confirm this.

15 min. still there...

The haze is almost gone so it's doesn't look like an effect from the clouds...

Wow, that really is something. It's something that makes me think of a planet with two moons. I wonder if it's an atmospheric phenomena or something else.

I don't have visibility yet. Won't be another thirty or so minutes until the moon tops the trees.

Hoping someone else can get their eyes on it for you.

What is the weather report in your area for the next few hours into tomorrow? It could be a ring around the moon partially obscured by cloud. Rings around the moon generally appear before rain.

Did you just take that picture?

If you could imagine a thick black stripe following the shape of the visible moon, then you have it...

Like the moon has a core that looks like the normal crescent moon and then an outer layer that follow that crescent creating a double crescent...

I really need a new phone for moments like this

Darn, you really have me interested now. I really want to be able to see this with my own eyes, but the moon doesn't rise here until near three in the morning. >.< 10:10 now... Can I wait it out? We'll see. I'll more than likely give up and hit the hay though.
It might be a small area thing but, any news stories or anything on it yet? I'm thinking it's probably all something to do with the atmosphere though.
