Is this related to this thread...........www.abovetopsecret.com...

Am I safe to click on it or is someone going to ask for my credit card details?

Do I have a virus or is this legit and endorsed by the Above Network LLC?

I'm not very smart but I can lift heavy things.

Thanking-you in advance for your time.

I am thankful you posted this Sublime! It started popping up for me a bit ago and I was like WTH??

I didn't click on it either as I couldn't tell right off if it had come from here or I carried it here somehow.

I'm flagging in hopes of an answer...

When I first saw the colors, I thought it was going to be a popup ad for Viagra. I was hoping they hadn't gotten that hard up yet. It's a tough economy after all.

AboveTopSecret.com is officially taking its part in The Battle For The Internet

We're among hundreds of major, and thousands of minor, websites displaying that message today, September 10th, 2014.

You only see it once. No financial details are requested.

Thanks SO. I will check it out when it pops back up then (I know you said once, but it's popped up for me twice so far). It was something I had not seen here before so wasn't sure.

Thanks again to Sublime for asking.

ETA. - For those that didn't want to do it the first time, if you close your browser, reopen it and comeback to ATS, it should pop up for you again if you changed your mind and wanted to take part.

What!
Is that why I got that buffer?

I actually got into a republicrat argument with Wil Wheaton last night on twitter over this!
You know Wesley Crusher!

I insisted he was hop'ed up on IPA and on a sci fi was rant.
But I saw his point!

He told me he's not a millionaire once was that can fund his words..
He praised Obama...
I said..
I'm warning you.
He attacked me via twitter personal mail...
And by all means ... I'm a simpleton....
But the attacks rage on...
Wil Wheaton won't quit!

I'm all for net neutrality!
But this guy is fighting me!

That pop-up you're getting is not a virus or anything sinister, in fact it's IMPORTANT and I urge EVERYONE to sign it immediately.

THE VERY FUTURE OF THE INTERNET AS WE KNOW IT IS AT STAKE.

You're only going to see it once. If you didn't do anything, and still want to if you're in the US; here's a cheat sheet.

1)
Go here: www.FCC.gov/comments

2)
Click proceeding number 14-28, it should be the third from the top.

3)
It will ask for basic information, don't be afraid to fill it in

4)
In the comments field, type something like:
"In order to protect the vibrancy of content in a free and open Internet, I want internet service providers classified as common carriers."

For more information, you can visit: www.battleforthenet.com

This is REALLY important folks.

I just did it here the third time it popped up and it acted like it went through. I even got an email :

We're in a battle to save the Internet as we know it: Thank you for taking a stand.

The cable companies have millions of dollars and armies of lobbyists and public relations firms -- and since they own so much of the communications infrastructure, it's especially easy for them to push their propaganda.

That's why we need to enlist as many people as possible to join this fight, to demand that the FCC to protect the open Internet and restore Net Neutrality right away.

Will you urge your friends to take a stand? You can use the tools below, or forward them this email. Or just forward them this link: www.battleforthenet.com...
Thanks!

If you're already on Facebook, click here to share with your friends.

If you're already on Twitter, click here to tweet about the campaign.

Or, just email the link to your friends

So do I need to do it again, or was I just lucky enough to be caught in a glitch from the matrix??

Excuse my ignorance but does this death of the Internet affect Canada, is it global?
I heard on tv today the crtc is planning to change cable tv fees. I wasn't really paying attention.

I'm not really clear what this is about either.
