ok from the information ive been getting this strain can last for at least four days on any surface.
so its time to face the stark truth of the matter, money that changes hands like wildfire goes into banks then to cash machines ,
nearly all businesses deal with money,so theoretically cash machines giving out ebola from the bank that likes to give.
dont deliberately ignore the facts or try to reassure people thats this is not a real concern, because as far as im aware there is no contingency plan to quarantine money ,this is a real concern and its peoples lifes that will be put at risk if they arent informed,
even taping in your creditcard number on the handheld machines risky, even door handles on shops, buses and trains suicide,it also means this can sit on the fresh vegtables in the supermarket to like apples,so lets start telling the people the truth now before its to late .
if we leave it to our goverments i fear it will be to late,
peace to all lets hope we get through this

Yes, we can all prevent the situation, but I don't think that we came to the point to avoid everything...
Also, we have the "cure" for this virus.

You know not just ebola sits on all of these surfaces or money right? If you are going to avoid everything, good for you...But I don't know many people who can avoid every surface in public for the rest of their lives....

Yes it is getting bad but what are people to do? You can't avoid everything forever!

Your concerns about money and the spread of germs are valid, not just for Ebola but for anything.

I worked as a bank teller for a couple of years and money handling in large amounts is disgusting. I used hand sanitizer two or three times in an hour and washed my hands with soap and water at least ten times a day.

My hands would turn black. I could scrape a fingernail across the palm of my hand and a black "scum" would be under the nail. Money is disgusting. People put it in their mouths (then hand it to you), they snort drugs with it, and probably other things I don't want to know about.

In an effort to get around handling money during some kind of an outbreak (again not just Ebola), if you feel the need to do so, would be to slowly stockpile some cash at your home. Perhaps a thousand dollars or so. You could then use your cash stash instead of using fresh money that's recently been in circulation during an outbreak.

I recommend having a stash of cash for other reasons, this is just one more reason to do so.

A good idea too is the use of online currencies, like Bitcoin :B

Bathroom Door handles. Fast food bags, any other door handles. Step hand rails.

I guess my germaphobia will pay off but I can rarely keep my money for a week.

There is a great fiction book by Tom Clancy that deals with weaponizing Ebola into the US. Executive orders I think. Not a quick read though. paperback version is around 1400 pages I believe. takes a couple days.

When I had my kids the Dr. Had to tell me both times to let my kids have germs. We really need to find a good middle ground. Like washing our hands often as well as paying more attention.

not only fast food bags but the condiment containers. Had a gf that managed an upscale hamburger joint in a casino in Las Vegas. The cleanliness was not a concern. But she brought me home a styrofoam container of food with ketchup packs tossed inside.
The germaphobe in me was disgusted that these dirty packs were placed on top of my food. She never realized it and stopped putting them inside the containers.

I'm pretty sure copper will kill just about anything. Use and request nothing but pennies when you cash your check.

There is much more sinister than money behind this ( money too ) The makers of ebola treatment are connected to DARPA and Monsanto.. this should give you shivers.
Link
And the firm making this serum is also connected to Monsanto

Oh okay, that's still in the experimental stages although it has improved symptoms for a couple individuals. Still far from a true cure by any means.a reply to: Yuuma

Here`s my conspiracy theory:
The government created this new strain so that they can abolish money as being too dangerous and make everyone use electronic money so that they can track exactly how much people make and how much taxes they owe. They will also be able to track everything you buy.Abolishing cash will also put a big dent in the drug trade.

Most people did that for themselves. For convenience. Even those story discount cards can be used to determine what your habits are. And, we use them because its cheaper.
