From the sands of Mars on Sol 719 Sol 719 emerge an incredible relic of its past: A crowned head of a statue! Right in front of Curiosity, it appears as if he was staring at the Rover. Are clearly visible eye sockets, the nose, the mouth and a kind of crown encircling his head...

For your awareness: statues are made from rock.

Correct, but before a rock is made into a statue it is simply a rock. I appreciate your passion but sometimes a rock is just a rock.

And his head seems elongated.

Like this:

I know there are some tribes in Africa that used to do this.

What this means?
:

Strange. Very very strange mental convolutions yours...

No offense: but what kind of comment is yours?

You know the statues of Michelangelo Buonarroti? Brunelleschi? Bernini?

Each of them before they become a statue were pieces of Marble....

I understand this Arken and as an artist who studied such things, sculpture isn't lost on me. When you are looking at an entire planet full of rocks you are bound to see rocks that appear as something else. In fact, that's what always helped me decide what the sculpture would be by allowing the rock to tell me by analyzing its shape.

I honestly think you would have a better chance finding Mars sculptures here on earth than you will using NASA's airbrushed pics.

So, you are an artist and a sculptor? Really? What fantastic coincidence!

Well, sorry to say this but this kind of behavior would leave humanity to the Stone Age... (irony hidden)

Thanks however for your personal opinion.

I can tell by your posts you are too emotionally attached to your idea which generally produces a form of confirmation bias. I'll leave you to it.

I can understand how when you see a face in rocks could just be illusion, but when the entire shape of the whole object is perfectly shaped with eye brow ridges, nose bone, nostrils, eyes, PERFECTLY SYMMETRICAL forehead ridges structure,
A 90 degree cutout which shows the object is hollow like a mask,

And don't forget the all important mouth, and nostril flaring, lips, etc.. And remember "All symmetrical with mirror image features on each side. (that means a right side and a left side with the same measurements).

THAT is not just a rock, it is a smoking gun. Someone has been on that planet and made that mask or whatever it is. No way is that just a plain rock.

Nice catch Arken..

PS it also appears to have a style in design that reminds me of classical tribal warfare

Actually, if you look at the image in the OP there are a number of phallic shaped rocks. This either proves that:

- the art of seeing what you want to see, and suggesting it is something other than what it is, is alive and well.
- aliens made statues with lots of willies.

Regards

Arken, again you've captured something intriguing, and I love you enthusiasm for it.

To help you out here with members, Imagine Mars was full of life (like it use to be) a civilization lived there, and traces of them will still be there.

As we all know, something catastrophic happened on Mars and it lost it's atmosphere. Billions? of years later it looks like what we see it as today:

Now imagine Chernobyl:

Decaying after just 30 years:

Slowly being taken over by the Earth it once stood upon:

Point being we all know how nature takes back it's lands, like when we first found the Pyramids:

But we can now look at ancient structures from the sky with the technology of today more easily.

^These structures only being a few thousand years old.

The winds of time could be showing us parts of Mars past, it's not inconceivable is it?!

But let's just call them rocks and turn away our attention to something that may hold a bearing to our ancient past too.
