They left a LOT of wiggle room in that treaty when they wrote it. No nuclear weapons. You can have a kinetic bombardment system, but nuclear weapons are bad, mmkay.

good thing we don't have a kinetic bombardment system up there as it's officially only a "feasibility".

And if anyone did put weapons into orbit, would anyone make a big deal about it? I mean, wouldn't all parties not really want to raise a stink in the hopes of preventing a public disclosure of their technologies?

one would think that tight lips keep butts puckered when you have something like the x-37b flying around up there. I am convinced the Chinese are looking to mitigate SBW's and have counter satellite tactics already planned.

Why mess with kinetic bombardment when you can do so much better.

Not sure the X-37B carries weapons or messes with enemy satellites.

I'm not either. (although I wouldn't be shocked) I was more inferring the current technology we're strutting around.

hey I like lasers as much as the next guy... especially when they're on frickin' sharks but what can I say..I like big holes in the ground and impact waves.

some laser LIKE things DO put big holes in the ground and create messy waves of destruction.

FYI, it was actually tested successfully, but was deemed too cost-prohibitive with operational logistics.

Somehow, I missed what is probably one of the most important threads on ATS.
There is embedded info here that confirms how important dreams are to our very existence.

Thanks for that. This is extremely interesting and wonder how this particular set of threads escaped me. Must have been doing something out of the ordinary.

Not sure if anyone has already posted this (I'm sure they must have by now), but I read the 1st, last and 2nd to last pages and it wasn't on there, so...

The Air Force had a Combat Talon I class C-130 aircraft that was called the "Praetorian Starship". Maybe the ad is coyly referring to that?

They did pull a few C130,s and an F15 out of retirement and turned them into Sharks with Friekin Laser beams on their heads..
