There will be approximately 65,000 UAC in total: 25% local ground transport, 25% via ICE charter and 50% via commercial air. Escort services include, but are not limited to, assisting with: transferring physical custody of UAC from DHS to Health and Human Services (HHS) care via ground or air methods of transportation (charter or commercial carrier)

This is just a dangerous proposition all around. Say 50% of the "escorts" are child traffickers with connections in Mexico, you're going to see about 33% of the kids go missing into slavery and the sex trade even though the paperwork is all nicely signed. It wouldn't surprise me if the politicians involved in this, as well as the bureaucrats, will make a tidy bit of side change on this program.

ETA: Or maybe it's like fast and furious, they'll trade kids for drugs with the cartels.

I agree. The violence in Mexico and Central/Southern America is bad but is has been bad for years and years now. I have not heard of any major events from down there? Why the sudden influx of 60,000+ children??? That does NOT just happen out of the blue...they were obviously led and by the numbers I'd say they were promised an awful lot from our gov.

I think it's great that Texas is taking measures to secure their border. They should build a 30' tall fence topped with concertina wire. So should ALL the border states. I'll bet the citizens of the US would gladly donate to fund the project. I bet the feds would declare it illegal, too.

If the borders are going to be secured, the citizens will have to do it. It's obvious the government doesn't want to, and has no intention of ever doing so.
