Transparency International: www.transparency.org... Details on scoring and ranking are available under the "in detail" tab at the top of the linked page, scroll down to #4 and click on the "CPI sources description document" to download, it is 14 pages.

Hello fellow ATSers, take a look at the link and study above. I am curious as to our international members opinions regarding the index rankings. Does your country's ranking seem fair? Too high? Too low? Are we content with our home country ranking in relation to the rest of the field? Also, is this short-sided? Corrupt surveying in and of itself? Is it overly biased in your opinions? Please share your thoughts. The United States at 19th least corrupt nation? Agree or disagree? If you look at the index, 2012 is listed at far right as well.

This thread is to discuss the index and how it may be accurate or misleading. Please feel free to cite examples to support or reject the findings for your home country. For example, how might have recent 2014 scandals impacted the U.S. ranking? Likewise for other countries?

Let us try and discuss and/or debate in a civil manner. Remember, different cultures view corruptions independent of each other, and some business and/or government dealings are acceptable in certain world regions, but not others. Culture is key in perceptions.

well, after seeing both the chief of police and sheriff of this city/county indicted, being harassed by the chief deputy, and having gotten a deputy fired for falsifying police reports, i would say it is pretty inaccurate.
