so yea , ive been wondering for a while now as an ATS member why only japan is singled out on this sight right at the top.

with a pokeball as its symbol nonetheless

hey i mean we all understand pokemon is fictional entertainment, but it don't mean we should single them out so racistly

the japanese are a wise culture, even though their entertainment is hollywoodish with an anime twist doesn't mean we should single them out ATS haha

Because video game systems are the best thing Japan has ever done for America. What better way to honor that?

I know you were teasing OP.... at least I think you were.

If you took the time to read the threads the answer would become self evident.

Fukashima is a real problem that affects us all as it affects the very planet we live on.

That should have been obvious just from the thread titles.

Research is your friend!

if we truly were honoring them it might be wise for the mods to reposition the pokeball label......

On the off chance you aren't trolling...

Have you actually looked at what every thread in that sub forum is? I can assume you haven't or else you wouldn't have asked why Japan has it's own forum.

Well, I thought you were teasing... It's their flag. Not a pokeball.

So is a pokeball. Which do you want?

No other forum icons are multicolored. Why should Japan's be?

i get it , really i do, im just saying it could use a repositioning on the site, not necessarily saying it should be removed totally

I try to not make comments that could be considered hurtful. In light of that statement, this is the funniest thread I have read on above in a while. That's a chuckle I needed, thank you!

another reason why i say this, is its not really breaking news anymore nor is the 2012 elections, unless you live 2-3 years in the past, a little site revamp would help i believe if only a bit not trying to troll

OK, I'll bite! Where would you like it to be repositioned and why would you want it repositioned.

Quite frankly, if I had authored this thread, I would die of pure unadulterated embarrassment, but then, I guess, you are made of sterner stuff than I.

To be honest, the OP is actually right now that I think about it.
Breaking news should literally be items that are happening as we speak.

The 2012 election certainly doesn't fall in that category.
Japan and Fukushima while ongoing is not really breaking news right now.

Fukashima is an ongoing disaster that continues to spew radioactive waste into the Pacific Ocean and into the air. I would not have said it was historical, in any sense of the phrase.

Once again, a little personal research goes a long way.

Deny Ignorance.

We should try it sometimes... and by we... I mean you.

You know - I asked myself today why I have Kim Jong Un under "likes" on Facebook. It took a moment of thought and I realized its because he is a trouble maker (and an anomaly). With Japan having a special spot on ATS it must be due to the fact that their location can cause quite a lot of trouble (big quakes, tsunamis, and a problematic nuclear power plant). The fact that those three things are in the perfect spot for all three to converge is an anomaly as well. Always hoping the best for the great people of Japan - a dangerous place to be the last few years.
