TODAY the U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments for/against a former U.S. President being immune from being Prosecuted for actions taken while he/she was President.

The U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments Thursday on whether former President Donald Trump is immune from prosecution in Special Counsel Jack Smith’s election interference case.

The high court agreed it would review whether Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, has immunity from prosecution.

Arguments at the Supreme Court are expected to begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, but the former president will not be present for the proceedings.

I see this as a very slippery slope. Sure today, it's about Trump, and it's Biden's DOJ. but what about tomorrow, what about 5 years from now? WIll someone bring Barry into the court and charge him with Murder? Will someone dig up Joey's corpse and charge him with Treason? This is yet another avenue that not much thought has been used in other than to "get Trump".

I almost wish there is no immunity for Trump, so it can be used to rattle some cages in a few months.

Sometimes when you give what you give, you get what you get.

Liberal Justices attempting to divert with red herring hypotheticals. Standard when they have a losing ticket. 😃

It’s clear KBJ has already made her mind up based on her ridiculous hypotheticals and questions.
She keeps cutting off the lawyers when they’re trying to finish their arguments.
She needs to work on her poker face to at least appear like she hasn’t already ruled in her head.

I don't see what's slippery. Current interpretation states that a President is immune from prosecution for anything he does that is within the scope of Presidential duties.

Trump is trying to argue that a President is immune from prosecution for anything they do while President regardless of whether it has anything to do with the Office of the President.

Trump's interpretation is a much slippier slope.

Either former president is immune and Trump is not eligible to be tried for alleged crimes against congress or the republic while in office, which lets Biden off the hook but also clears the road for Trump to resume office.

Or prosecuting Biden for his crimes is more pertinent to Americans' overall dignity and prosperity than Trump being re-elected, on the slim chance that anyone is willing to actually prosecute Biden who is one foot in the grave already.

You can only have one.

If Trump had not placed the justices he did we would be sunk.

We’re almost sunk anyways…

Democrats don't care about any of that. They don't remember what happened yesterday unless it's a meme. In five years they will be setting cop cars on fire over being treated the same way.

That’s not what Trumps lawyers just argued.

Or they take the chicken # route.
They make a ruling so narrow and specific to trumps case only.
I bet they take the chicken # route.
Roberts is a weasel.

Special council also tried to make some silly point defending their use of broadly worded statutes and that prosecutors ‘sometimes didn’t get indictments out of grand jury’s’.
The Justice said ‘well sometimes there is an eclipse too’ LoL
You could hear the chuckling from the crowd.

Either way, it requires an act of congress to prosecute. Can't just kick down his (or their) door with a warrant.

Warrants have become a joke these days.
Both sides are to blame yet one side is often the offending party. D

So Biden can have the military kill Trump and face no prosecution? According to Trump's lawyer, that's exactly the case.

Is that similar to Barry killing that American citizen?

you conservatives should be careful what you wish for, because if they rule for immunity for the president do you all think biden wont take advantage of it? nothing will be illegal for him, like say removing elected officials for talking about impeaching him for example or actively interfere with elections to ensure that only Democrats win, maybe even launching political purges if he was so inclined.
