DAMASCUS: Israeli strikes hit an Iranian embassy annex building in Syria’s capital Monday, state media said, as a war monitor reported eight people were killed in the building.

Syria’s official news agency Sana said “the Israeli attack targeted the Iranian consulate building in the Mazzeh neighbourhood of Damascus”.

A Lebanese security source told Reuters a senior commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps, Mohammad Reza Zahedi, had been killed in the attack.

This is a big attack within the Iran embassy complex killing high level Iranian personnel.
An entire building looks destroyed.

Attacking the Embassy Is a direct attack on Iranian soil so they have to respond in some way , Although Israel has in the past attack Iranian Nuke facility's on nothing happened .

Just watching al jazeera-they are saying things like "Iran has to retaliate or it will be seen as weak"and that this may be the event which makes Iran fully activate hizbollah to attack israel.

The remains of the building show a lot of really thick rebar-looks like a huge amount-could be the building was reinforced as its an embassy?

I wonder what type of missile was used?
Do Israel make that kind or would it be a US missile?

That would no doubt add to the downward spiral we seem to be on.

According to some reporting, the strike was carried out by F-35 fighters. My guess would be they were carrying JDAM precision guided glide bombs. Supplied by the US.

Just another day in the complex world of the Iranian Israeli relationship. Been going on like this for decades just gearing up a little the past year. No full on WW3 crazed excitement as yet. For sure edging that way with religious and right wing nutcases in control of both countries. A direct attack on Tel Aviv or the same on Iranian nuke sites then time to pay attention?
