Texas Senate Bill 4 is under lawsuit from The Feds who say it's unconstitutional.

A while back The U.S. Supreme Court put a stay in place.

Today They lifted the stay and it's now actually enforceable in Texas!!! 😃

As the case continues until ruling(s) are final someday.

Stickywicked for Migrants that crossed illegally but may actually have "papers" from The Feds !!!!!

ROFLOLz it could become a real "bloodbath" 😀

Apparently SCOTUS says an appeals court erred . . . .

The Supreme Court didn't rule whether the law is constitutional, but said that the appeals court didn't follow the rights steps when it reversed a federal judge's order blocking SB 4 from going into effect.

Supreme Court permits Texas police to arrest people who illegally cross the border as the SB 4 legal clash continues

The ruling allows Texas to start enforcing SB 4 while a lawsuit over its constitutionality remains pending before a federal appeals court.

The U.S. Supreme Court in a 6-3 decision on Tuesday ruled that a law allowing Texas police to arrest people suspected of illegally crossing the Texas-Mexico border can take effect while a legal battle over the new state law empowering local law enforcement plays out.

The decision comes a day after the high court had extended its temporary block of the law.

Justice Samuel Alito had issued the block as the high court considered an appeal from the Biden administration, which has argued Senate Bill 4 is unconstitutional because it interferes with federal immigration laws.

The legal case is far from over. The case will now go back to the U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. Eventually it has to be resolved in a federal court in Austin, where the lawsuits were originally filed.

The SCOTUS Ruling Today was Inevitable . A U.S. State does have a Constitutional Right to Defend it's Borders . The Fact that Ruling even had to be Made tells you All you Need to Know about this CRIMINAL Biden/Obama Administration .

Excellent. Let border States take care of their borders.

Now maybe Congress can get on with the Country's business. Maybe pass a budget? And Republicans can help with that.

a reply to: xuenchen Hopefully but will the illegals be returned to their country of origin (on taxpayer’s dime) or will they be incarcerated in the US (on taxpayer’s dime) or will they be not allowed passage into the USA?

In the early 1950’s, my parents had to provide proper documentation to come over. My father was here months before my mother and siblings, working as a GM for a large corporation (the man could sell shoes to a cobbler!). I am not xenophobic, I am, as were my parents, not inclined to accept or pay for, lawbreakers who expect everything handed to them.

Bravo Texas!

So the SCOTUS is allowing Texas to arrest criminals?? Gee, thanks guys! Why did they need SCOTUS permission for this? The bigger issue here, is that we're even having this conversation...

Biden really embarrassed the Supreme Court at the State of the Union.

That was a big mistake.

Biden may need those guys on close votes.

Pound sand Joe.

So after they are arrested what do they do with them? Put them on prison busses and illegally cross the border to drop them off in their own country?

Yes they are flown home by air or placed on a bus. Mexicans are easy to deport south America becomes more difficult. I say make it simple Mexico let them in ship them to Mexico then this makes Mexico shut off its southern border and send the migrants there And the domino effect starts. Each country will secure their border not wanting to have to pay for all the migrants. A huge game of hot potatoes. As countries scramble not to be the last one.

Embarrassed? LOL
Those justices have no shame. Nothing embarrasses them!
He called them out for their Dobbs ruling, the same as Obama called them out at a SOTU for their Citizens United ruling.

All this shows is that Justice Alito uses the 5th Circuit Court as his own private mini SCOTUS.

From yesterday Monday 3.18.2024...

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court on Monday continued to block, for now, a Texas law that would give police broad powers to arrest migrants suspected of illegally entering the U.S. while the legal battle it sparked over immigration authority plays out.

A one-page order signed by Justice Samuel Alito indefinitely prevents Texas from enforcing a sweeping state immigration enforcement law that had been set to take effect this month. The language of the order strongly suggests the court will take additional action, but it is unclear when.

It marks the second time Alito has extended a pause on the law, known as Senate Bill 4, which the Justice Department has argued would step on the federal government’s immigration powers. Monday’s order extending the stay came a few minutes after a 5 p.m. deadline the court had set for itself, creating momentary confusion about the measure’s status.

Are the Justices overworked? Couldn't meet the 5pm deadline yesterday. I've read there is a lot of arguing and disagreement between the justices these days.

Texas has spent $148 million dollars, shipping 100,000 migrants to sanctuary cities, because the U.S. Government was just going to leave them in Texas.

Hopefully the Trump administration (unless Joe Biden cheats again) will reimburse the Lone Star state.
