expose-news.com...

Rumble, the free-speech video hosting website could be banned in the UK under new online safety laws. As reported here a couple of days ago, the Online Safety Bill was approved by the House of Lords on the 19th of September but still needs official approval from the King before it can become law. This has not deterred the government from trying to coax platforms such as YouTube, to ban Russell Brand due to allegations of historical abuse.

Again as we reported last week, while YouTube dutifully obeyed, Rumble stayed true to their mission and responded

“Although it may be politically and socially easier to join the cancel culture mob, doing so would be a violation of our companies values and mission. and finished with “We emphatically reject the UK Parliament’s demands.”

Unfortunately, now “experts” have said that Rumble, which hosts Russell Brand, could be blocked in the UK because of the Online Safety Bill.

According to the Times (reference also made by the author of the article linked above) from next month when the new bill becomes law, Rumble will be regulated by Ofcom as it is accessible in the UK.

www.thetimes.co.uk...

Under the new law, Rumble will have to prevent children from seeing pornography and material that promotes self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders. Violent content and material harmful to health, such as vaccine misinformation, will also have to be kept from children.

Ofcom will also draw up new guidelines on violence against women and girls that will have to be adhered to.

Rumble will also have to take down material that is illegal, such as videos that incite violence or race hate.

And here it's where anyone with basic critical ability and a healthy degree of skepticism understands this is an attempt to ban Rumble from the UK pretending they care about the safety of kids online. Never mind the drag queen shows, pride events, online and offline indoctrination and grooming of children by the transgender lobby.

As far as I know Rumble forbids pornography on its platform and materials that promote self-harm and suicide but allows free speech and allows users to criticise the ridiculous policies related to the pandemic, either this is about lockdowns, restrictions, vaccine mandates, and vaccine harms, which are called 'vaccine misinformation' by the state.

Rumble allows people like Brand or whoever else to criticise Government policies, World events, online censorship, state misinformation and disinformation, or the involvement of the West in the Russia-Ukraine war.

Furthermore it allows users to state basic biological facts such as there are only two genders and allows criticisms of the very wild and unsubstantiated claims made in the name of gender ideology without the threat of their channel taken down for hate speech.

It's very unlikely Rumble will comply with the demands by the UK Government to censor and silence users who speak common sense over a range of issues and bring legitimate criticisms on the debate. Hence there is a real possibility Rumble could become 'unavailable' in the UK although I don't think this will be welcomed by the British public.

creates an interesting countdown clock though as none of this stuff is sustainable, not least a state facing an election cycle with +50 of voters feeling politically homeless and rejecting the existing parties/policies..

I am not in the UK to know what happens but I know for sure this is a slippery slope with the recent intervention by the UK Government and the pressures on online platforms to censor or ban material and users. I don't even know whether it's legal.

Probably but again I am not 100% sure.
The main topic is the wrong path the UK Government has chosen and the enormous amount of censorship it tries to impose on free speech.

historically the uk gov has been here before a lot of times especially in the know it all liberal guise dominating the last 200 years of politics..

the idea of using lethal chambers tracks back to Westminster pre ww1 only they always fail in their plans.

In the 1970s they wanted to get rid of 50% or 30m, all poor and white.. that's the people they see as subhuman, now the numbers they throw around to eradicate is near 75%..

In reality is they are Walter mitty's with their grand genocidal plans as thankfully they are rubbish on delivery, sh*t roads, rail, corporates, hospitals are a testament to that.. the empire was by accident and fortune of timing..

This has to do with the coming war more than just Russell Brand. He is the excuse for them to be tyrannical and shut down any influencers that will negatively talk about the war.
They need platforms like YouTube to build you up into thinking war is the answer while Rumble has many who will speak out against it.

I am sure the 97% of UK internet users who never use Rumble are going to miss it if and when it gets banned.

Just like the 98% French none users when it was taken down in France in 2022

Thats not even the worst part of the bill.
It also gives the government automatic real time surveillance and acess to all data on any of your devices -IF you use certain very popular apps. These include google maps, linkdin, facebook, instagram and others.

So if you use any of those on you phone/pc/tablet etc-you essentialy give permission to the authorities to snoop through any data on your device-photos,message emails...all of it.

Neil Ward made a good video on the matter-If yu start at 7 mins you will hear how the bill requires websites to install "government approved software" so that the government can access all of your device data..huge fines for websites which do not comply, and t applies to sites not based in the UK,but accessible from the UK..

Its the kind of bill which would make Stalin or Pol Pott salivate with glee.
And its as good as pssed.Just the king needs to sign off on it-and he will of course.
The social credit system is here in the UK.

I don't know the percentage of UK internet users who use Rumble, perhaps you could share a link. But for those who use the platform everything we discussed here is still valid.

Your attempts to downplay this major incident and attacks on freedom of speech by the UK Government has for once more failed.

You need to try better.

Here you go.

The UK as a whole are not keen on Far-Right websites such as Rumble. The US seem to like it though.

YouTube is controlled by the Government and will ban any words or people the Government says to, so they need YouTube to spread their disinformation.

Since Rumble doesn’t abide, and a war is coming, the Governments need to shutdown any dissent before it even starts.

Popular far-right video sharing platform Rumble is riddled with election misinformation, study says.
