Well, seems all the targets are areas where fossil fuels are used for mass transport. It could be a CRAZED Green New Deal sympathizer that lives across the pond making a statement.

It is plausible given the target choices. No mass gathering of civilian shoppers or other undefended areas were targets (yet).

Only mass transit systems.

I don't really know but it would be nice to know how a package possibly sent from Ireland to the address of just 'Waterloo station' would go unnoticed. If I was a postal worker I'd be a bit suspicious. I mean ok the address is Waterloo station .. but to WHO ?

Just smells a little fishy to me but I'm no expert

Certainly looks like it. Garda have confirmed they've been called on by the Met to help with the investigation, had a 'Love Eiré N' stamp and the last series of IRA attacks were letter bombs.

They have kind of always been about, every now and then there is a shooting or some small bombing. In January this year for example there was a car bombing. They are just dissident republican groups, its not as much of a problem as it used to be but they do make themselves known.

Oh wow, I only thought that because stations were their MO during their 'glory days'.
When I was in London decades ago I remember being evacuated from a station due to a Ra package threat. The locals were quite blaze about Tube evacuations as it happened so often

Of course its too early to say for definite but it looks like it could be one faction or another based somewhere in Ireland.

There has always been a very small group of Irish Nationalists who disagreed with The Good Friday Agreement and cessation of The Troubles.

They are extremists who long for the old days when they terrorised their own communities, ran extortion rackets, controlled the flow and price of drugs etc and were noting more than glorified shysters and racketeers.
They have the same aspirations that all wannnabe gangsters have.

And lets not forget their counterparts in the Unionist communities.
I wouldn't put it passed dissatisfied members within their ranks to try and do something like this and blame it on Irish Nationalists.

But lets not too carried away with possible scenario's and scapegoats.

Since Brexit vote, EU leaders have been winding up the Irish, perhaps even thinking some dissident republican group could be used to 'punish' the UK for voting to leave their sordid little gang of vipers.

This is nothing new, there have been dissident Irish attacks since before and after the Brexit vote, don't get me wrong am sure its a factor but they were attacking even before this and will probably keep it up after Brexit.

And how is this alleged tactic supposed to work?

Are we now expected to be # scared and thus want to Remain in the EU?
Or are we expected to show our resolve and resilience and strengthen our desire to leave?

Do you honestly think these packages will have any sort of influence or effect on the UK public opinion at all?
Please bear in mind what the British people have overcome in the past....not wanting to play this down too much but it really is a relatively minor incident.

If today's generation had to go through what people went through back in the 70s 80s they wouldn't handle it, not in today's age where people get offended by a simple bad word on the internet.

I'm not scared but what if this was the beginning of (assuming it is an IRA incident) and more bombs were being found. I'm sure the government would use it Brexit as an excuse. They will then push this on to the public by saying Brexit is causing and increase in anger from the Irish

And the typical British response would be '# the Irish, no-one dictates to us!'.
And there'd be a subsequent increase in support for Brexit.

The government and political elite across all parties don't want Brexit....so it'd be deemed counter-productive.

You make some valid points about todays Snowflake generation....but they might just surprise us yet, our blood runs deep.
