What do you mean first one approved by Trump?

Didn't Mattis carry out some 30+ attacks on day one?

That was PR BS.

Those 30+ bombs dropped in Iraq and Syria and were already strikes on the books...Trump just wanted credit so publicized them...

This raid in Yemen was on the books for 6 plus months, but Pres. Obama was waiting for the element of surprise and a moonless night.

This was a complete cluster-eff and cost an American Soldiers life and killed several civilians.

Trump is incompetent...And delegated to a Fake News editor and his daughters Husband to give the go.

Son in law is a jew, so maybe its not to "White Nationalist" as you may think. Also White Nationalist isnt the same as Supremacist. What a term anyway, I doubt they call themselves that! That term is over prescribed, and has lost all meaning

Can you name one operation that hasnt had casualties? Its pretty common to lose a serviceman during an operation, it doesnt negate the fact that the mission was successful.

If they did what they came to do, and lost any number of soldiers, it would be a spit in the face of the dead to say it failed.

This operation began planning during the summer by Obama, rescheduled by the team itself for the next moonless night. Once you're there, you cant expect the seal team to retreat because it may have been compromised. Thats why you send 'commandos'(read; not average soldiers) because they will follow through regardless. Apparently the team was confident that they could finish the mission. those decisions are theirs to make....

Trump didnt force them to stay and finish.

Delayed by Pres. Obama...for the next Moonless night...A President who worried about the men he sent into harms way.

Seal team will go whenever and wherever they TOLD to go.

YES they could have got the order to call it off..

BUT Trump wanted a PR win..

Al Qaeda fighters were somehow tipped off to the stealthy advance toward the village — perhaps by the whine of American drones that local tribal leaders said were flying lower and louder than usual.

Through a communications intercept, the commandos knew that the mission had been somehow compromised, but pressed on toward their target roughly five miles from where they had been flown into the area.
“They kind of knew they were screwed from the beginning,” one former SEAL Team 6 official said.

You'll need to cite where they asked to leave and Trump said "no"

Until then I'll assume he went with his appointee for real advice.

No doubt it will leak eventually...

Likely when the news broke in the Command Center that the mission was compromised where communications intercept made it clear they knew the strike was coming...

Someone turned to the President and said "Mr. president?"...

But Trump was thumbing away on twitter and not paying attention...maybe he barked "whatever"..

Kind of like Hilary and Obama ignoring the ambassador's pleads for backup in Bengazhi right before they drug him into the street and raped him to death?

Well hopefully justice is served as it was in that case.

A catastrophic outcome of the current Yemeni crisis will have disastrous impact on the EU's ability to maintain control and reliable oil flow from the arab peninsula.
