My wife and I had airline tickets and lodging reservations to Austin, TX, but cancelled out on Friday because of weather forecast.

I’m now watching the eclipse on NOAA’s geostationary satellite website:

www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov...

It looks like we both made the right choice. Austin is under the clouds, but it looks like Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio are pretty clear.

Fort Worth is clear skies. It’s about a quarter of the way right now.

Patiently waiting to see if the New Madrid fault slips.

I drove down to Indianapolis from Chicago this morning early. Sitting in a hotel parking lot parking lot next to i-74. As soon as it's over with I'm going hop back on the highway to beat all the traffic.

I started a thread like this 3 days ago and it was put into the General Chit Chat forum that relatively few people ever visit. Let's hope yours is able to stay out here in a primary forum.

I'm in MI, so we are going to have like 96%.

I'm at work, but I have glasses, and the sun is right out my front window here. Don't even have to go outside, but it is gorgeous today, and almost 70 F. !!!!

Does anyone else remember, it must have been in the mid to late 70's, when we had an eclipse? And we didn't have the glasses, so we stood with our backs to the sun, holding up a piece of white paper? You could see the eclipse (kind of) that way.

You and Bluntone should have just came to my house in Ky. I live on 5 acres 6 miles outside of a town of 5,000.

No crowds, no traffic, plenty of BBQ and beer.

I'm going to be standing outside naked with "Black Hole Sun" on repeat and no glasses while I soak up my super powers.

I'll be invincible, blind, and robbing banks while flying around like superman in no time.

Have fun with your BBQ's and specialty eclipse sunglasses, ya nerds.
