The Indy 500 Race (really? Wtf is up with autocorrect when spelled right??) capped off a wild month.

Who doesn’t love Helio Casterneves??!!

That is awesome! Last two laps… just great. But it was the drama in the pits that ruled the race. That and vapor lock on pole sitter Dixon, then Rossi, and it kept on happening.

The young guys lead, then we Helio cycling to the front.

Jesus, this is what we needed!! Watching the fence climb and his heart on his sleeve!

Four time winner of the Indy 500. Turn one pass, non-Penske car, 40 something, and a winner, again!!!

Yeah, sometimes our team/racer doesn’t win. But the spectacle is still worth it.

ETA: it is a step towards normal. Nice to hear 140,000 voices yell their local hero onwards as he assumed the lead. And the appreciation for Helio as he hung from the fence. We can resume “normal” as we remember how to behave in a group setting again!

A good car race would have been cool to attend!

I've been watching the 500 since I was 7 years old, back in days of tape delay broadcasting. I must say that the two that stick out....well, actually 4 that stick out, the cars floating over the start finish line, AJ getting out of his car and whacking his car with a hammer, Sullivan's spin and win and Helio's win this year.

I was around for the Tigers world series in 1984 and the Red Wings first Stanley Cup and this ranked right up there with them.
