I have a theory;
The degree that a secret is a secret is inversely proportional the the number of people who know it.
The likelyhood that the number of people who "know" a secret will increase is proportional to 1 minus the inverse of the number who curently know
the secrtet (with 1 being the absolute certainty that the secret will not grow).
Thus if you have 1 person with a secret it will remain a secret for as long as he chooses. If, howver, that person tells another person then the the
degree that that secret is safe is halfed and the likelyhood that more people will know about it increases to 1/2.
If 1000 people know a secret, then it is no longer a secret.
