Secret poll: Iraqis back attacks
RAW STORY
A "secret military poll commissioned by senior officers" from the Ministry of Defence reveals that the majority of Iraqis support the insurgent attacks against British and American troops, according to an exclusive story in The Sunday Telegraph. /96vb8
Among other findings, the poll also concludes that 82 percent are against the continued occupation and that millions of Iraqis believe that suicide attacks are justified.

Well that wasnt very much of a secret poll was it?

Half of those polled said there was no excuse for attacks against coalition personnel, while 40 percent said there is a justification and 10 percent saying they don't know.

Obviously the creators of this report are anti-military unscrubbed filthy hippies with an axe to grind against Mom and Apple Pie, why everyone knows the Iraqi people were just delighted with being bombed and invaded, and everyone also knows the insurgency is entirely composed of nefarious foreign agents from Iran/Syria/Berkely/Canada...

What? It was the UK's Ministry Of Defence? (backs away slowly....)
Be it the poll is propaganda or not, if it's true, I wouldn't be surprise at all. Just tell me, would you like to be invaded by another foreign power who promise you peace and prosperity for the future? I doubt you'd say yes.
They blast into your country with their tanks and planes and after that they tell you: "vote!".

I doubt there is a single nation in the world that wishes to be 'liberated' in the same way Iraq recently was.
The information contained in the article if it were right, left, center... still should be immediately called into to question especially based on what is currently provided as information. The largest heavily experienced polling organizations with the best available talent do not get the correct information out of opinion polls.

In other words, "the poll did not get results that meet my preconceptions, therefore the poll must be wrong."

The degree of self-deception necessary to support this war never ceases to amaze me. In a way I envy the ability to make onesself believe what one wants to believe despite all the evidence. It's quite a neat trick...
