Urgent: World Trade Organization control of vitamin, mineral

Read this very important health message below and contact everyone.
Your right to choose your vitamin, mineral and other supplements may end
in June of this year (2005). After that U.S. supplements will be defined
and controlled by the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the World
Health Organization (WHO).



The CODEX ALIMENTARIUS (Food Code) is setting the supplement standards
for all countries in the WTO. They will be enforced by the WTO and will
over-ride U.S. laws. The U.S. President and Congress agreed to this when
the WTO Treaty was signed. Violations are punished by WTO trade
sanctions.



CODEX drastically restricts vitamins, minerals, herbs and other
supplements. CODEX met secretly in November, 2004 and finalized Step 8
(the final stage)to begin implementation in June, 2005.
The CODE includes:
(1) No supplement can be sold for preventive or therapeutic use.
(2) Any potency higher than RDA (minimal strength) is a drug requiring a
prescription and must be produced by drug companies. Over 5000 safe
items now in health stores will be banned, terminating health stores as
we now know them.
(3) CODEX regulations become binding internationally.
(4) New supplements are banned unless given very expensive CODEX testing
and approval.

CODEX now applies to Norway and Germany, among others, where zinc
tablets rose from $4 per bottle to $52. Echinacea (an ancient
immune-enhancement herb) rose from $14 to $153 (both examples are now by
prescription only). They are now drugs. Vitamin C above 200 mg, niacin
above 32 mg, vitamin B6 above 4 mg--all are banned over-the-counter and
classified as drugs. No amino acids (arginine, lysine, carnitine, etc. =
essential amino acids!), essential fatty acids (omegas 3, 6, 9, etc.),
or other essential supplements such as DMEA, DHEA, CoQ10, MSM,
beta-carotene, etc. are allowed.

The CODEX rules are not based on real science. They are made by a few
people meeting in secret (see web sites below), not necessarily
scientists. In 1993 the FDA and drug corporations tried to put all
supplements under restriction and prescription. But over 4 million
Americans told Congress and the President to protect their freedom of
choice on health supplements. The DSHEA Law was passed in 1994, which
does so. But this will be over ruled by CODEX and the World Trade
Organization.

Virtually nothing about it has been in the media. What the drug
corporations have failed to do through Congress they have accomplished
by sneak attack through CODEX with the help of a silent media. What can
be done at this late hour?



(1) Spread the word as far and wide as possible. Inform yourselves fully

(2) Oppose bills S.722 and H.R.3377. These support the CODEX
restrictions,
with U.S. laws that will change the DSHEA law.
(3) Support H. R.1146 which would restore the sovereignty of the U.S.
Constitution over CODEX, etc.
(4) Express your wishes to the President, Senators and Representatives
ASAP.
(5) Contact multi-level health marketing groups that can get their
members to inform the government.
(6) Send donations, however small, to the British Alliance for Natural
Health (see web site above). It has succeeded in challenging the CODEX
directives in World Court later this month or next. They need help
financially, having carried the fight effectively for everyone. CODEX
and the FDA wish to protect us by controlling supplements in the same
way they do prescription drugs. A study of the latter by three medical
scientists was reported in the Journal of the American Medical
Association, April 15, 1998Vol. 279, No. 15, p. 1200 & Incidence of
Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) was found to be extremely high. Covering
30 years (1966 to 1996) it was found that in the U.S. an average of
106,000 hospitalized patients per year (290 per day) die from ADRs and
2,200,000 need more hospitalization for recovery. These were FDA
approved drugs, properly administered by competent professionals in
hospitals--none were considered malpractice. This is the number four
cause of death in the U.S. When combined, these account for 7% of all
hospitalized patients. This is equivalent to a 9-11 attack every ten
days. There are very few fatalities from supplements or the news would
be on every front page. There is no need for more FDA control of
supplements than is already in place, which is substantial. Instead of
drastically restricting supplements, why doesn't the FDA better control
and restrict the extremely dangerous pharmaceutical drugs which are now
killing us at the rate of a major airline crash per day?

Good, there is to much bunk out there with respect to vitamins and 'herbal supplements'. Making above RDA allowances prescription only seems rather senseless tho when it comes to water soluble vitamins tho.

its funny how the FDA lets stuff like viox thru and drugs that have serious conciquences later on down the line but anyways as far as herbs and it my choice if I want to put them in my body or not
I like to think of myself as one who obeys the laws but not when they tell me what I can put in my own body.
I live with a terminal illness and some of the herbs the fda wanted to have pulled off the shelf I use and help me a lot.

I googled on this guy, this cut and paste is making the rounds all over the net.

Notice this man is not a Doctor of Medecine. He has a phd according to the letter. He apparently is invovled in the 'holistic/naturalistic' medecine industry. Take note, this is a guy who makes money off a product that new regulations will restrict and cause profit loss.

Here is a pdf file of something he did titled "SOME BIOPHYSICAL BASES For the HUMAN ENERGY SYSTEM" hosted on a 'Dowsing' forum.

Outside of this and a mention of a "Wallace G Heath" as a collector for the B.E.E. program and the University of Arizona, I can't really find anything about this guy, including some important stuff, likesay, what his degree is in and who issued it.

I checked Google, Yahoo, Metacrawler, Dogpile, Lycos, Alta Vista, Web Crawler and the MSN search engine. All give very similar results, which consist almost entirely of web forums discussin this thing, with most people panicing over it.

This board seems to have a discussion on the topic too, apparently this 'codex' has been around since the '60s. the below post is quite intersting

) H.R. 3377 does not ban anything outright. It requires accurate labeling of all ingrediants, and requires manufacturers of dietary supplements to report serious adverse health effects to comsumers that have used their products. The legislation _would_ give the FDA the authority to ban any supplement that was deemed unsafe. However, the legislation specifically exempts products that contain _only_ vitamins and or minerals. Also, there is no verbiage relating to CODEX, The WTO, WHO, or any other international organization. Even if 3377 passes, you'll still be able to buy your yohimba extract until someone dies from it. which insists that people send it donations so that they can raise $470,000 asap. Infact both sites, except the AHHA site, make it clear that they want dontations for this 'immedaite' issue.

He's been around for awhile and is pretty much your typical hysterical loony. And yes, he'd love for you to send him money (note that he actually doesn't need that much to file briefs... he can do them for free. But if you send him money, he can quit work and travel.)

His "facts" about how much Zinc and Eccinacea costs in Germany are wrong; dead wrong. Search on www.ebay.de... (the German Ebay) and you'll see that they're going for about what they cost here at the upscale herb shops.

So basically he's a nut job who wants to weasel money out of you.

Interesting, I suspect as much. It will also be interesting to see what his degree is in and whether or not its from a nationaly accredited health institution.

That would suck if it were actually true. I hardly every take medications. I am a natural therapy kind of person.

Whatever you are finding in these discussion boards may reference our
website. However, we did not initiate or send out in any way. If you
review codexinfo.org, you will NOT find the globalist control
mentioned. We do not even know a Dr. Heath.

AHHA created codexinfo.org to report facts and share groups holding
Pro and Con.

I find it rather hard to beleive that they have nothing to do with the thing being sent out, since this notice posted here has been plastered all over the web at many different forums and lists them as one of a very few that are promoting this cause. I mean, they are saying that they have nothign to do with the letter, but are promoting the cause so ineffectually that the only place you can find out about it is thru this letter? I don't buy it personally. Looks like no one knows who this guy is, what his degree is in, or if he got it in the mail or whoknows what.

Still - what is really significant is the drug cartels' influence in withdrawing the right of people to self-treat without the intermediary of a medical quack selling the mega-buck profiteering of a drug company

The best recourse of the 'consumer' is to avoid the MDs, GPs, disease-ridden hospitals except in case of emergencies, broken bones etc

I think most of whats been revealed slants the whole thing as being hysteria and profiteering by the people promoting the message.

now I have received another reply from ANH. Apparently the person that sent me the first one also forwarded it on to another person higher up in the organization. They are disavowing any involvment in the 'urgent' letter. They are saying it contains inaccuracies.

Following on from your enquiry the following alert has been posted on our website today.

Erroneous Codex emails. If you receive an email alerting you to the importance of Codex, and its states that “Your right to choose your vitamin…supplements may end in June of this year (2005)” it has not originated from the ANH. This email has numerous inaccuracies. All communications from the ANH are either from ANH email addresses or are on documents showing the ANH logo.

Hmm, and they put it up at their website too. I checked and it is indeed there after the first into screen. Looks like this "Mr Heath" is even more of a fraud than it originally appeared!
