That really is one heck of a dream, looking forward to part 2. Anything that the other dream characters can't see, such as the sword, is foreign to the dream imo. It is a helping, a cheat, a gift etc.
When you gave the original summary I was a little worried because there was a lack of people, or seeming to be. Not a lack of people (because you saw them on the beach), but there was a lack of intimate conversation and so forth, it is good to see this, more interaction, in the full version. Plus I didn't know the orb spoke to you and that it actually went through you one time.
Like any dream I don't know how much of yours is based on reality or not. Much in the same way as if you meet a girl in a dream who is a friend in real life, but in the dream she is head over heels in love with you... So which is true? Is she really in love with you in real life? Probably not! Though there may be hints of truth in there and that is just your dream way, or your dreams way of expressing this sort of love, any love.
Otherworldly help comes in the form of the sword, the writing on it is nothing you've ever seen. It melds with you. You are shown by something outside how to defeat the negativity of this world. In the real world this would basically come in the form of a wise teaching perhaps, or even a moments peace - a gift, a cheat, something external... you see?
It is extremely cool that you can obliterate the bad guys and turn them into shards of light, the major thing that works for me is a bit different. I telekinetically throw them against walls and the ground and they turn into this doughy substance. Think in terms of "energy cannot be created or destroyed" I just turn them into dough eventually. And that's really ALL I have in my arsenal, lol. So just by the way, don't take it for granted that you can do that. That can save you a lot of time, and time is precious, lol.
Your dream here is truly interesting for anyone that takes the time to read it. I think you do a good job focusing on the important and legit parts. Much in the same way that the orb says to you, "There really is no time for me to tell you about myself," This is so true. In dreams we don't usually have much time to get things done and we have to really really set our priorities. Even in life itself we only have so much time, there is always a time limit isn't there? That sort of thing "There isn't time for me to explain" used to bug me, but based on focus and our abilities, it really really starts to make sense.
Phew, I could go on and on with this, but anyway. Very good dream, i don't know how often you dream journal or sit and do dream recall, but you have a real knack for remembering and doing the important things, ESPECIALLY when the orb says, "There isn't time" and you don't press the issue. Go with the flow and all, that's very good.
Sorry I didn't reply earlier, I have been tired all day - out with friends last night , really enjoying myself and not wanting to sleep - I actually got it into my head that I might not need to sleep, and well I crashed sometime a little after noon lol.

The orb visit that the orb tells you about, that happened when you were six: was it something that happened to you within the dream apparently? Or was it part of real life and this is what gave you the knots in your stomach?

Though I am interested, did your friend respond in disbelief when you told him everything? And did you tell him it was a dream? Did he want to join you on the journey right off or was he hesitant?
