Real-life Sixth Sense

Sorry if this has been already posted. Used search, didn't find this. If true, this once again shows kids are more apt to be more 'in touch' psychically.

Wow...what an adorable and precious little kid!

On one hand, I'm glad the family is sharing this "ability" publicly because I think this is a phenomenon that should be discussed and studied openly. On the other hand, I'm worried that this small child could easily become a target of exploitation. If my child were gifted in such a way, my instinct would likely be to protect and shelter him, keep him out of the public spotlight ... but then again, if we keep these kinds of abilities secret how can we ever expect to learn and study them?

Children are most definitely in tune with things that most adults are not. I recently became pregnant and my children do not know yet. But my daughter - who is three - has started talking, daily, about wanting a baby sister and when is her baby sister going to be here. Never much interest in dolls or babies before. Coincidence? Maybe... or maybe she senses what is going on. I shared that story at the OB/GYN office and the nurse told me that in her experience with the ob practice, siblings "knowing" about a mom being pregnant was extremely common and, in her words, "pretty spooky."

I think siblings know when mom's expecting. My son did the same thing. He was approaching three when my wife was expecting his sister, and he talked incessantly about wanting a brother or sister, a few weeks after she found out and before we told him. Coincidence? Most likely, but he knew something was up.

Do you know if you're having a boy or girl yet? If it's a girl, that makes it 50 percent more spooky!!

I am not one to deny that children are far more open things to that us adults are not. It would seem that as we age we either begin to listen to grown-ups, as they tell us ghosts aren't real or magic doesn't exist, that we begin to close ourselves off to it. Eventually we lose the connection completely. Or maybe the connection fades on its own? Either way, I really hope this boy doesn't close his mind to the things he is experiencing, if it's true.
