A global corporate takeover of the world's food supply is in the works right now - focused on China, the last big frontier. The big push is to prohibit Mom-and-Pop livestock production in China, and industrialize their production and consumer markets. ....The US just tightened up some of its regulations but China has none. The way it will play is that livestock production will move from the US to China, and the meat products (mainly pork and poultry) will be exported back to the US. The main argument is that backyard farming creates dangerous bird flu strains, which is not true - industrialized livestock production is much worse in every way.

I don['t think businesses are evil conspiritors plotting in back rooms; like a person they just follow self interest.
I'm more worried about gummint restrictions. Some places are now restricting farmers market type operations; if they can't control it they'll abolish it, under the guise of 'for your safety'. I'd much rather buy produce from some guy with a roadside stand than wha't trucked for hours to a supermarket.

The problem is that corporations have undue influence on government.

I think this is because of the way we finance elections. If we could get corporate money out of politics we could get rid of the undue influence from profit-seeking corporations.

I'm sure you have a plan on how to do this. It is the very essence of a capitalistic democracy and you will be the one to choose which groups are 'evil corporations' from those who simply have a stake in the decisions made in Congress.

As a member of the farming and ranching community I have the right to establish, fund and operate a political action committee or PAC to have my concerns heard in Washington. I also have the right to donate money to the campaign of individuals seeking national office that I feel will represent my best interest.

It is frustrating to those who seek real change to be bombarded with catchy buzz words and phrases like "undue influence from profit-seeking corporations" from individuals who when in reality, as I have just shown, know nothing about the farming and ranching communities they pretend to support-when again, what they really support is a socialist government that controls every aspect of life and takes away generations of wealth disguised as income equality or equal rights.

Farmers and Ranchers want nothing to do with a socialist wealth sharing system nor do they want assistance from individuals or groups that see government as solution to all problems with never ending rules and regulations that control those who have accepted the responsibility of generational wealth.
