I didn't mean to spell burka wrong, I didn't even think to check. Doh...
Anyway the poem is about how women are expected to suppress all animalistic desires such as eating, sex and allowing their spirits to dance. I choose
to use the term burka as it represents some of the worst oppressions I could think of.
It's also about how society pressures young women to dress and look a certain way and are then told by the same society that if they get attacked
it's their own fault for looking the way they do.
