You just said that because CVS has stopped selling cigarettes that it is now discriminating against smokers.

Yeah and ?

CVS is discriminating against smokers.

It would only be discrimination if they sold cigarettes to non-smokers, but not to smokers. Then you could say that smokers were being discriminated against. Unless of course, your religion tells you to discriminate against smokers. Then that's okay.

Given the fact that the two still exist for me to tell, then it sort of invalidates your hysterical point of view that somehow those two groups have been eliminated.

Not for long. They are fighting for their lives every single day.

BS fear mongering towards the delusional and ignorant.
Factcheck
100% fear based lies pushed by liars and ignorant.
As far as religion, that is a personal choice, and has been losing ground since the renaissance...society evolves. Still enjoying a comfortable 80+% of people claiming a specific religion though.

No, that is a statistical fact. Source 1 Source And no, not hating on the poor, because I don't hate smokers..I was one for the longest time and have always hated smoking even as one..and I don't hate the poor.

Don't hate either.

Not fond of progressives though.
edit on 5-2-2014 by neo96 because: (no reason given)

Its because you define what a progressive is verses know what one is.
I imagine I would hate a group if I simply assigned any perceived scary thought to that group without doing even a little research (or worse, letting those with their agenda do their "research" for you.)

You are the one who claimed that a business should be able to do what it wants. So they have decided to NOT sell something. I fail to see the problem here.

Gun owners, and religious people see the problems here, but hey pay no never mind to that.

You don't need to keep improving your obsession with the Obamas to me.

Yep Obama's obsession with gun owners, rich people, and business owners, have clearly been proven.

And here we have the infamous stream of Neo nonsense. You don't fire on all pistons, do you? You just demonstrated that not only do you not understand what taxation without representation means, you are a "freedom fighter" who only cares about a few infractions, but not all of them. If it doesn't affect you personally, everyone else be damned. Maybe somehow you can get this hot mess you just made to make sense without your usual tactic of circular reasoning.

Nice condescension there;

Never heard of the $200 tax stamp on guns ?

Never heard Obama care was ruled a tax ?

Yeah some people who claim to be 'freedom fighters' do only care about a 'few infractions'.

For someone who claims that there is no freedom in this country, how would you know?

Every time I buy a gun, and have to get government's permission is how I EFFING know.

So you're all for infringing my rights and freedoms?

reply to post by beezzer

Infringing on anyone's rights are wrong.
When two rights are being infringed on by two different parties, then the law is called to mediate.

When there are no laws to mediate, laws are made by consensus and vote.

If you didn't like that the Government set laws in place for that mediation, then I guess you should have engaged your local representatives.

Infringing on the rights of the religious is ok, I guess.

*sad*

*shakes head*

I am sorry! I didn't realize that discrimination was a religious value.
But then the KKK tried to use religion as a means to kill anyone who wasn't white.

The only thing that is sad is that the only right you are worried about protecting is your own and nobody else's.

Haha that is an awesome but asinine argument.

So what you're saying, is that CVS has a duty to smokers to purchase in bulk, and sell cigarettes to smokers?
And not fulfilling that duty to smokers, is discrimination and therefor against the law.

So by your logic... ALL store should sell cigarettes because if they don't, it's discrimination against smokers.

Got it.

Smokers are discriminated against.

We are told where to smoke, we can't smoke in many places.

It is a discrimination.

dis·crim·i·na·tion

/disˌkriməˈnāSHən/

noun

noun: discrimination; plural noun: discriminations
1. the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people or things, esp. on the grounds of race, age, or sex.

"victims of racial discrimination"
synonyms: prejudice, bias, bigotry, intolerance, narrow-mindedness, unfairness, inequity, favoritism, one-sidedness, partisanship; More
sexism, chauvinism, misogyny, racism, racialism, anti-Semitism, heterosexism, ageism, classism, casteism;

historicalapartheid

"racial discrimination"
antonyms: impartiality
2. recognition and understanding of the difference between one thing and another.

"discrimination between right and wrong"

It is not discrimination as a smoker is a habit of choice, not a natural situation such as gender, age, orientation, etc.
Its about as much a discrimination as horse riders not being allowed in a restaurant riding horses, or any other hobby. Stop that nonsense, its damn insulting when you compare your hobby restrictions to someone elses history of actual discrimination and persecution..people have died and killed over a natural look or gender, and you are belittling that with a hobby?
No...and shame on you.

It's a habit. A drug dependency. I have a disability.

So now you're discriminating against the disabled???

O.M.G.

It is a drug disability, I do agree with that
And come to find out, admitting that doesn't let you smoke crack in a shopping center either...choice disability is choice...something to feel sympathy and help to try and treat.

When is it okay to infringe on a persons rights?

Spades trumps Hearts trump Diamonds trump Clubs in Bridge.

Does the same thing go for personal rights or religious rights?

Is there a higher Right than another?

Who has the bestest rights?

Who's rights trump all other rights?

Who's the winner in "Rights"?

So your saying nuns being forced to buy contraception, and Obama banning the usage of buying guns via the corporate loophole, and hasn't taken more money from the evil rich.

Easy: the one who shoots first and hardest. At least, that is what history has shown.

So now the Obamas are telling us we can't smoke? What's next? They're gonna do it like they done coal; They will make it so high that people who enjoy it won't be able to afford it, so it will create a huge black market. It's not hard to grow tobacco. These communists never surprise me with their lunacy.

The nuns were never forced to purchase contraception, there was a debate on if they had to purchase health insurance to their employees which mandated birth control, which was brought to the scotus and was determined they didn't.
Not even sure what you are talking about in the banning usage of guns or whatnot..what I do know is that I can go down and get a handgun or shotgun if I want, so whatever your discussing, it has no basis in my reality.
As far as the progressive tax rate? Obama has taken more than GWB, but less than Nixon
Obama is not trying to court the most wealthy, he is trying to stabilize commerce as per his job. Your local congressman is fighting tooth and nail for the poor corporate interests.

Yes, that is exactly what Obama said, word for word..not allowed to smoke. Congratulations on your assessment being so spot on.

So the government mandated that, and business had no choice.

There was no option for 'their business their rules'.

But all taxation takes money out of the economy. Money business use to pay employees salaries, and other 'benefits'.

Our president is fighting for those corporate interests.

Nope.

That shows just how ridiculous CVS is.

CVS sells all kinds of 'death'.

From this:

Hell between Diet pills, soft drinks, candy bars, chips, and latest dietary fashion statement, plan B, birth control pills, morning after pills CVS pulls 'cigarettes'.

CVS wanted to promote the 'health agenda' and all of the above is 'harmful to human life'.

They pulled cigarettes, and left the rest.

I wonder how many people would be on CVS's side if they pulled plan B,birth control pills, and the morning after pill from their shelves.
