With as much spare $$$ as they've spent on ghost cities, I'm surprised they didn't invest in a couple of new shipyards for faster production.
I also wonder what their level of technology they'll come up with by then.

This is their 2nd carrier, not the 1st they are building. Theyve purchased and studied those since the 1970's.
Their 1st carrier was commissioned in 2012.

Well, it'll be a good long while till those "new" aircraft carriers come to be, I bet they are going to rush productions to get them out to sea and start bullying their way around in the south china sea....
By then of course, the US will have already upgraded their fleets, some new ships an tech too.
